Generally, attendance is down everywhere in CFB. But, yeah, it's disappointing. I do think the Three Stooges: TMAC/Holtz/Smith are contributing to our woes. All we can do is show up, like we have been doing. Many of us have been doing this (going to games at Aillet) for awhile, for me this is my 43rd year. Others, much longer than that. As D65 is fond of reminding us, we've seen leaner years than this.

Was just talking to someone about the Rice game. They mentioned it would have been a good thing to have the game at 2 in the afternoon and then the basketball game against Sam Houston at 6 or 6:30 (instead of at 4 pm Sunday). Have to say, that would have been a pretty spiffy situation.
It seems like not so long ago when November afternoon football games were sold as a DH package with evening basketball.

Rice's starting QB transfer from Vanderbilt is healthy again and will start Saturday. He had like one throw during a game at Vandy and I don't believe he is much good (but could be better than J'Mar). Anyway, I don't his presence will make much difference in the game.
You have to know quietly, just among themselves, Rice likes its chances. They know we don't have a QB. And they have nothing to lose, they can come out in all kinds of goofy formations, run gadget plays, blitz every play....I would! Mix 'em up, different types of blitzes, but I would blitz Smith EVERY play.
I know we SHOULD win this one, no matter what. But, I have an uneasy feeling about this one.
Me too. FYI....that's what Rice did against UNT two weeks....they blitzed Mason Fine almost every down. And it worked for about 3 quarters. The score was tied 17-17 until UNT kicked a FG with 2:28 left in the 3rd Qtr.Quote:

Terrible choice for the red out game. Temps below 40 and windy. Red noses, maybe?
Red out MUST be early to work. Really stupid to have it so late when there is a chance/probability of cold weather. Now, other than the horrible looking unis, you won't be able to tell it was a red out game.
If our admin is not going to think things through stop trying to do these stupid promotions that do nothing to boost attendance.
This red out is already a fail and it is 9 hours to kickoff.
I think the all red unis look awesome, but it probably would have more impact if we didnt wear more different uniforms than Oregon.
Similarly, I don't have a problem with special color games (the White Outs for MBB were clever and fun), but you have to have a baseline of blue first, otherwise it makes no impact. Table the Red Out until we have ~80% blue in the stands. Which the way things are going should be about 8 people.Quote:
