Confused and can't keep up
Okay, so are we ever going to play again? Game on, then game off. Does anyone have a schedule as of today? I know it can change by tomorrow, but just would like to see a cleaned up schedule just for now. I have never been so confused about when and where in my life. Postponed, cancelled, playing with half a team, not playing but could have, switched from football to dodgeball.. Whatever it is as of today would be helpful... I would like to prepare myself on whom to hate next.

From now on, games will only be played if both teams believe they have a 100% chance of winning.

Well that rules us out then.

That appears to be the correct answer. If we play again, could someone let me know. I would like to get up on a Saturday morning and be excited again. With Brees out for the Saints, even my Sunday's are getting shaky.

This is all I have, since hockey is screwed... I'd like some more Tech football for crying out loud. I guess when someone catches a cold, we halt everything now. I don't believe this stupid world this year...

Well, after losing several people in my life due to this pandemic, I understand. I just thought that we (and other teams) would do a better job of keeping the players completely isolated and in a bubble during this time. The good news is that we can see the end in sight. I just don't want to lose any more friends and family in the home stretch. I do have hope for basketball, but REALLY was hoping for more football!

Did any of them actually die from Covid as the primary cause. I'll put a $100 up as they didn't. Don't care what the death certificate said, they prolly had pre-existing conditions.

I really believe the Saints will be ok over the next 4 games.

Speaking of halting everything, what’s up with halting the vote counting at midnight the night if the election?
That’s never happened in my lifetime.

Not comparing the two, and certainly not being crass, but cancer isn’t often the bottom line on a death certificate. This I know.

Agreed. I’m on Team Jameis. He’s gotten away from a terrible situation in Tampa, and has had a chance to grow up. Saints will be fine.

No need to get into it. These were personal losses that should not have happened, but I think it is best left out of the football conversation.

Re: Confused and can't keep up
Winston sucks! He is horrible. Saints are done... unless that defense can somehow carry them, but even great defenses need a decent QB for the O.

I am not a Winston fan AT ALL! It scares me. I do think he has a better O-Line and receivers, though. No matter what, the Saints defense over the past couple of games has to continue to give them a chance. I believe we will beat the Falcons, at least one out of two times. We still have a chance to win the NFC South, especially with the tie breaker over Tampa. Brees may be back by that time. In all honesty, though, Sunday has a big question mark for me and I think we will know more about this "no-Brees" team after that game.

He threw for 5100 yards and 33 TDs last year.

I agree Winston isn't totally worthless, but those stats also included 30 interceptions.

I like Teddy Bridgewater and felt more comfortable with him filling in for Brees than I do Winston...
But, guess we’ll see

Re: Confused and can't keep up
With the all HC and OC changes in Winston’s brief stint with Tampa, he was set up for failure. He didn’t help his cause, certainly. But he can sling the ball, and still very young and healthy and he’s in Peyton/Brees system. Pretty good spot.
The nod to Hill, though, I’ll give him that. That’s throwing him a bone for a lot of work.

Yep Taysom Hill gets the start. Go Saints!

It is going to be VERY interesting. I am still not convinced that this leak was on purpose to throw the Falcons off. Anyway, I am looking forward to Hill starting. We know what all he can do and this will change our offense up - I just hope his is more accurate with passing than he has been. He certainly has been awesome in every other position. If Hill does play the entire game, we are going to be heavy on the run and our defense needs to play like they did the last couple of games. I really believe that we STILL GOT THIS!!! Any other coach and I would be nervous. :D
No one can say that they aren't curious about the game tomorow, no matter who Quarter Backs in the game.

Defense stepped up again. Hill did a good job.

Thanks THEarmada!!! I have had a lot to grieve about, but now I just hope everyone else can make it until we have that vaccine distributed. I appreciate your thoughts!

I think Hill adjusted to the game speed by the second half and did a tremendous job. It took a half to get him there. I think he will be fine as our starter. LOVED those deep passes!!!! Like you, though, it was our DEFENSE that was unbelievable! 8 SACKS and constant pressure! Allowing Atlanta no touchdowns is no small victory!!!!!

And 2 of Atl's 3 FGs were long range, 50+ yards, meaning they didn't really get that close on the drive. The Dirty Birds were sitting at negative yardage in the 2nd half until their mid-4th qtr drive netted about 40 yards before it fizzled out. And, the Saints left at least 13 points on the field, probably more, due to penalties and turnovers. Game was not as close as the final score (24-9).
