No doubt, with a pass to the quarterfinals we have the nice path to the championship game. Dispatch of FAU an ODU (likely opponents) and prepare for Western Kentucky in the finals. Time to become the Frisco Dawgs. Maybe it takes a “once in a century virus” for us to make a “once in a generation NCAA tournament appearance”. Our Bulldogs should not disappoint this year. Onward to Indiana!

I think utep beats FAU. They gained some confidence against Kansas

LA Tech should win this tournament.

- Tech's semi: Tech should beat UNT in the semi's, because UNT has serious depth problems. The Mean Green can only go about 5 or 6 players deep without sacrificing good play. Tech's tenacious defense should slowly squeeze the life out of UNT in a 5 to 8 pt win.

- The other semi: UAB will use their famous smothering defense to beat WKU in the other semi.

- Championship game: Tech has better guards than WKU, as well as a big, solid players down low (Crawford, Lofton). So, Tech should defeat UAB in the CUSA championship game, using the same strategies they did to sweep UAB in Ruston.


The matchup that scares me the most is ODU. Tech never plays worth a damn against ODU in anything. So, I hope we don't have to play 'em.

Just a reminder, Cobe is kind of a "flopper" on the floor anyway. He's that guy that will roll around on the floor "in agony", act like he's dying, have to be helped off the floor by personnel, only to return 3 minutes later at 100%. :rolleyes:

He only played 11 minutes, but no starter played more than 17. I can not find anything online that talks about him being hurt. Someone else started a thread saying Kalob Ledoux was also injured. I can not find anything online that talks about him being hurt either. Who knows?

FIU is 9-17, and losers of 15 of their last 17 games in a row. In fact, the Panthers' only win since Jan 8th was over someone called "Florida Memorial". They were looking for a way out. I'm sure they didn't want to make the Tournament trip to Texas. Chalk this up as another "strategic cancellation". :laugh:

I thought we would rather not play UTEP.

Wow, hate to see UTEP got screwed like that. This was a close game and sure seems like the bad call changed the momentum. The Dawgs need to put a good effort to have some coushin to hopefully also beat the refs.

That was just theft. Anybody that makes a call that bad should have to suffer some repercussions. I truly believe a 30-day suspension from officiating any and all games should be in order for someone who screws up THAT bad. And if you get 3 suspensions in a season, you should be done. Forever.

Funny thing how the regular season "big dog" has lost in every sport. Marshall was all the rage in football, but lost to UAB in the CG. Rice in WBB...lost. And WKU lost to UNT when a game mattered the most. Now, FAU is the regular season favorite in baseball...hmmm, be aware Owls.
