Re: Ready for Basketball!
Get ready for more disappointment...
Re: Ready for Basketball!
Everyone else gets a Covid year if they want it too. I have a feeling we will have a winning record, play in the CUSA championship game, and be ready to switch to baseball.
Re: Ready for Basketball!
Tech basketball had a GREAT finish last season. I'm ready for more. I have found that Eric Konkol's coaching is much more reliable and consistent than Skip Holtz's. Konkol is a better coach. Let's just hope we stay away form the foolish injuries like what happened to Cobe Williams last season (broken hand) just before the CUSA Tournament.

Konkol is fine but he better bring home the bacon this year (conf champ and/or Dance).
Tech fans have suffered too long and it about time we had some dad-gum success (to be fair, I'd count baseball's finish as pretty successful)
Re: Ready for Basketball!
I feel that we will get that elusive NCAA bid this year AND get a decent seed by winning the conference. I even believe we will finish in the top 20! I have VERY high hopes that this will be the year we have needed for a while now. Let's face it, we have been better than about 30 teams that made the NCAA tournament for years now. CUSA needs to be a multiple bid league every year.

Always the eternal optimist...ya gotta love it! Don't ever stop being you, Champion, we need a dose of optimism in Tech Nation.
As I mentioned, I spoke with P.J. Brown the other day. His team, 1991, was the last Tech team to dance. He said that is simply amazing given the amount of talent we've had. And, he's right. One would think the good, ole "law of averages" would have caught up by now and the Dawgs danced a time or two. Maybe this year...
Go Dawgs!

Interesting. LA Tech BASEBALL let me down last year. We literally could have won the CUSA Championship on our own field in our brand new stadium, by simply defeating ODU in the CUSA Tournament. But once again, LA Tech Athletics took a pass on a championship.

It's very difficult to be the lone representative to the NCAA Tournament from a 14-team conference. CUSA should really be a 2-bid conference.

I say success because that was about the most I could expect from a Tech team. You're right.

Maybe the law of averages is correct. Maybe in order to even it out, we are about to go on a ten year span of non-stop tournament bids.

We went to the post season 9 straight years beginning in 1984. Yes, that included some NIT appearances, but that was also at a time when there were fewer NCAA bids, maybe 48, so making the NIT was a nice consolation.

I always try to be, but I will admit that this thread is because of our football team last Saturday night. I was not good, but not in horrible shape with the 4th Quarter meltdowns before that. I thought that might could be fixed, so I still had hope in conference play. My optimism for that has gone down considerably now. However, when I lose faith in one thing, there is always the next!
Re: Ready for Basketball!
I received my basketball tickets and parking tag in the mail today. Funny I didn't ask for paper. I wonder why we are going away from the electronic?
Re: Ready for Basketball!
What are the dates on the front side of the parking pass, my pass says 2020-2021

NCAA Tournament went to 64 teams in 1985.

Re: Ready for Basketball!
I saw a buy one get one deal on tickets for the lsu game in Bossier. The deal expires tomorrow and I saw it for the first time today. Has that been offered for a while if just a day or 2?
Re: Ready for Basketball!
If we are ever going to make the tournament, we better hurry before this conference falls apart.
Re: Ready for Basketball!
I'll find out 11/15/2021 if I'll be attending another Louisiana Tech sporting event. I have this administration.
