As suspected, according to the article at the link - “A lot of teams wanted me to transfer after USA, but I stuck with Louisiana Tech, where I committed to,” Lofton, Jr. said. https://heatcheckcbb.com/shaws-sleep...is-own-legacy/

Sure is. Coach Konkol and Eric Wade need to have a serious talk about this subject with the kid. Of course, he could be just spouting off for the media, but they need to make sure.

Mike McConathy was just on Tim Fletcher's show and he said that the good game line is one of the dirtiest places in all of college hoops. Said you'll frequently hear coaches say, "Good game son, we'd love to have a player like you."
-
Re: Watchlists, Weekly Awards
The other (harder to police) approach is to have a player reach out.

Comments related to a game aren't what raise red flags for me. It is the unsolicited comments possibly initiated through third parties at the direction of coaches trying to circumvent the rules.
That's one purpose of the transfer portal. Schools are allowed to reach out then, but not otherwise.

Re: Watchlists, Weekly Awards
It seems like a company perhaps incentivizing through a possible NIL contract might be another sticky wicket with the transfer portal.

Re: Junior Claims Multiple Player of the Week Honors
So, I noticed Junior's got a new "do". I like it better than the "gumby" hairdo. It looks more serious and grown up.
-
Re: Junior Claims Multiple Player of the Week Honors
Likely that Tech will need Junior to pull this trick several more times this season if what he just said during his BTB Radio interview is right. Junior just said Crawford is out for the season.

Re: Junior Claims Multiple Player of the Week Honors
Every year we lose somebody

Re: Junior Claims Multiple Player of the Week Honors
Crawford is extremely valuable to our team. I really don't believe we have enough firepower to win conference without him.

Getting Stacey back would really help. I mean, what would you do? We can't continue to try to defend the opposing 4 with Christon.

Me too! He's susceptible to the drive right now but at least his wing span doesn't allow guys to shoot over him. He's gonna have to learn in the trenches like Kenny Hunter.
I do like what we're seeing from Bradford in the last couple of games.

Yeah, he is a match-up nightmare and a really good rebounder/defender. It a damn shame he tore his knee up again. His game is more torque than finesse--love that guy!

Hurt his knee in the Jarvis Christian game after playing 7 minutes.
The only positive spin from this is that he should be eligible for a hardship year if he misses the rest of the season. He had played in too many games (16) before his season-ending injury two years ago. If he gets the year back he would still have 3 years left.

My early impression of Bradford was SUPERIOR athlete but lacking in basketball fundamentals.
Thankfully, that appears to b harsh. Really like what he has been doing. He looks like a lock down defender in the making and hasn’t looked bad at all putting it on the floor and driving to the rim.

That's the Pandora's Box that none of the sports announcers ever mentioned. This will happened, just like players were paid under the table by alums/bag people. But, this will be legal.
Even while a player is being recruited out of HS, alums with companies can offer NIL's, bidding wars could start up and it would all be legal, now.

Is it the SAME knee that he hurt before?
