Stadium streaming, not Stadium over-the-air TV.
Stadium TV has the Court A games involving the number 1 seeds.
I don't like this matchup -
Maybe the most dangerous team in the tourney

Tech: Junior is 10th both in double-doubles and rebounding. Willis is 39th in 3pt%.WKU: Sharp is 1st in blocks/g, McKnight is 15th in assists/g, Anderson is 9th in steals/g, Justice is the 4th oldest MBB player in the NCAA, and as a team, WKU commits the fewest fouls/g.

WKU is 45th in eFG, playing a very efficient basketball. They don’t get many offensive boards, they don’t defend the perimeter well, but they score at a steady rate and won’t foul. Tech needs to crash the boards, run the floor, and play efficient offense to come away with a win.

Tech meets Western Kentucky in the CUSA quarters at 6pm on Stadium. Tech came from 17 back in the 1st meeting to eek out a 1 point win over WKU. The Hilltoppers are a 1.5 point favorite, having won 10 of their last 11 games. If you are near Frisco, come on out; tix are only $20.

Go Dawgs!
If the Court A game was boxing, it would be referee stops contest.
North Texas 30 Rice 11 4:10 1st
And the officiating is 100% biased for North Texas. Perry gave a Rice player a tomahawk chop across both arms and got no call. And Usman was all on the back of a Rice player getting an offensive rebound and scored.
Tech 15 WKU 4 15:42 1st
Tech 4-6 3PT
Lofton landed wrong on his ankle and leaves the game at 15:24 with it 15-6 Tech.
North Texas 35 Rice 17 half
Feed Willis. Let him eat.
Tech 22 WKU 12 11:22 1st
Lofton still taking little hops on his ankle at the end of the Tech bench.
Hunter scores 6 while he was in for Lofton.
Lofton back in and scores.
28-14 Tech
Lofton get another layup blocked because he didn't use the glass. Have to lay it off the glass to get goaltending.
Christon gets knocked down hard. Not sure what happened there as the video feed was on a replay.
7:59 timeout
Tech 28 WKU 16
Replay shows a screen where Sharp's shoulder caught Christon in the head. Not much there.
Green is a liability on defense
Just one Tech bucket (a 3) since the last media timeout. Turnovers killing Tech.
Tech 31 WKU 24 3:46 1st
North Texas 45 Rice 21 15:21 2nd
...and on offense too apparently
With 10 turnovers, we should be down 10. Lucky that WKU couldn’t throw it in the ocean. Official got his feelings hurt by a Hoop Trooper. Ha!
We are playing 5 against 8
We are not good enough to beat WKU and the zebras. This game is being officiated so one-sided it is ridiculous.
Tech -7 turnovers, -6 points allowed off turnovers, and -5 second chance points.
Tech 42 WKU 40 14:49 2nd
Green gets his 3rd foul
Let's try Lofton and Hunter on the floor together...
Tech 47 WKU 43 11:49 2nd
North Texas 68 Rice 50 final
These are ghost fouls they are calling on us
Timeout Tech as WKU takes its first lead
WKU 50 Tech 49 9:36 2nd
Turnovers will be the reason if Tech loses this one.
We are better with Hunter on the floor because Sharp usually sits when Lofton is out.
Looks like WKU figured us out earlier than most teams at the end of the first and that was the ball game. We won’t adjust or change the game plan, if we win our guys will just out hustle them.
Willis dagger 3 puts Tech back ahead.
Archibald hits a 3 that will be reviewed...no good. Shot clock hit 0 with the ball still in contact. TV replay confirms.
Tech 52-50 7:18 2nd
Arch got that shot off in time
Tied at 54
4:34 2nd
Tech has only 1 timeout left.
Final media timeout
3:58 left
WKU 56 Tech 54
Archibald shooting 2 after Sharp's 4th foul.
Better get our heads back in the game...
What’s going on is WKU has height and is defending fairly well since they started their run.
Archibald misses both and Green picks up his 4th foul.
Willis makes it 57-56 WKU 2:40 left.
Tech ball with 2:19 left
Willis misses a 3 WKU rebound.
WKU 2nd timeout at 1:51
WKU 57-56
It'd be interesting to see some data on scoring droughts. Most of our losses are due to multiple 3-6 minute droughts
They aren’t gonna let Sharp foul out. We are playing sloppy, but this one has been called very unevenly.
Willis fouled by Sharp...no call
WKU misses a 3 Tech rebound.
Williams walks. 20th Tech turnover season high.
20 turnovers!
Lofton layup
23.8
WKU timeout
Tech 58-57
Junior! Wow!
Sharp fouled on a rebound putback 6.3 left
Missed the 1st shot.
Missed the 2nd
Lofton rebound.
1-and-1 coming with 4.6 left
Unbelievable missed foul
WKU calls its last timeout.
They let 3-4 seconds run off after the foul call. What is going on??
1st FT good.
2nd FT short
3 no good.
Tech 59-57 final
Game was never in doubt, had 'em all the way
Junior owned the game when it mattered.
Whew
Congrats to our dawgs on the win!!!
Dawgs vs. UNT
Techsters vs. MTSU
We face one of the better teams in both games. Gonna take some great basketball from both teams to advance to Saturday.
A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:

FRISCO, Texas – Louisiana Tech defeated WKU back on New Year's Day, getting free throws by Kenneth Lofton, Jr. and one final defensive stop to secure the win.
Discuss it here.
You are exactly right! I was on the edge of my seat for 3 quarters of the game last night. It was a big win - WKU was in it to win it and almost pulled it off. Now, it just gets more difficult! As for the Lady Techsters, they have come a long way from mid-season and will be tested tonight on how far they have come. Both the men and women passed the test so far... Every game will be close today. I may need heart meds for these two games.
Always need to keep the Tums, and the heart paddles handy when “enjoying” Tech athletics.
Willis has emerged as the go to guy in this tournament
Jr's numbers are still static on what he was doing over the last quarter of the regular season
We saw why Konkol doesn't trust Green last night - he almost gave the game away
Cobe has got to get it going on the offensive end of the court
Hunter continues to grow his game
Poppa is still out of control - needs to try to run at 90% and let the game come to him instead of forcing it at 120%
That said we are in the semi-finals and we know its going to be a two possession game one way or another in the last two minutes vs UNT
Well, from that photo, it appears that Lofton's "ankle" is alright.
I like Hunter a lot. I don't think he plays enough. He only played 10 minutes last night against WKU, and he still scored 6 pts (3 for 3 FG's) and grabbed 3 defensive rebounds in only 10 minutes. And he seems to be a very excited and energetic player. He's definitely a solid contributor. I wish Konkol could give Hunter more minutes. Might alleviate some of the defensive pressure being put on Lofton.
And Hunter looks like a young Malone

nice catch. Hunter needs a whole lot more minutes. so do Green, bradford and stewart. each is an upgrade athletically. if they come with energy, live with the mistakes. we only match up with superior teams when the bench is involved and a couple of covid seniors are reined in.
As I posted during the WKU game we are often better with Hunter on the floor and Lofton on the bench. That is true because the other team rests their big man when Lofton is off the floor. So, it comes down to Hunter vs. their back-up and Hunter is starting to show he is better than most teams' second big man. Also, and more importantly, Konkol changes our half-court offense when Hunter is out there from a Lofton-centric offense to a guard-oriented flow. If we're going to play three guards they sure as heck better step up and deliver some offense! Otherwise, go back to the old two guards, two forwards and a center scheme.
Beyond that, Hunter is growing and getting more confident. He is no longer a freshman, he has played in 33 college games now. I would like to see a rotation with both Lofton and Hunter on the floor with WAW or two guards and a forward. David Green has had some bonehead moments lately, but I like his offensive game and see tons of potential.
But, other than body type, Hunter has a LONG way to go to be compared to Karl Malone. I hope he gets close, if so, he's gonna be great for us!
I think we will see Lofton shine tonight. He is not going to go out with last night performance. Don't ever forget that even when he doesn't score as much, he alters SO many shots in the paint. Plus, he draws ALL the attention - freeing up our other players.
Do players have an opportunity for summer play similar to baseball? I would love for our younger players to have an opportunity for minutes against competition
