Will this be a baseball show for one hour?
In the past they split time with softball.

Re: Inside Tech Baseball Debuts Monday
Never mind, I've learned how to read "woke"...
The one-hour live radio show, hosted by Malcolm Butler, will feature Louisiana Tech baseball head coach Lane Burroughs every Monday throughout the season.

No way Burroughs goes more than a half-hour talking about this dumpster fire.
I expect two other segments with one being the weekly one for softball which I have no problem with (but that's a smaller dumpster fire after losing at home to ULM and 2 of 3 to UNT). I expect WNIT filler too.

Baseball paying the bill to hear about softball and WBB. Figures.

Re: Inside Tech Baseball Debuts Monday
They’ll probably go with the pathetic coach-calling-in-by-dugout-crap-phone-comm-link like they do in the sad sack post game review so no one can hear what’s being said anyway. It’s slowly but surely getting to a point of who cares. About all Burroughs will be able to talk about is Evans. Everything else about the team and coaches is bad news.

Re: Inside Tech Baseball Debuts Monday
Only 16 minutes given to soft ball tonight on the LaTech Inside BASEBALL show.

Re: Inside Tech Baseball Debuts Monday
The “great fall” crap is getting old.
-
Re: Inside Tech Baseball Debuts Monday
I think the “great fall” was mostly measured against ourselves, so it’s easy to see how our pitching and hitting looked good since to the biggest degree the team isn’t really all that good at pitching and hitting.

Yes that’s why I’m tired of hearing it. He always uses that for lineup excuses.

Re: Inside Tech Baseball Debuts Monday
I just heard Ole Miss is 0-6 in SEC.
Explains our win against them.

Re: Inside Tech Baseball Debuts Monday
If you listened tonight you know our HC has given up on the season

However, in summer ball, many of the same guys showed out. Unless they were playing SWAC level competition then too.

What I heard was Burroughs doing a big promotional part that sounded like a campaign to defend Gaspard and Fouts’ jobs after the season ends. If the season continues as bad as it is now and there’s every reason to think that it will it’ll be fair for AD Woods to ask Burroughs what he’s going to do differently next year. After tonight’s show I think Burroughs answer will be, I don’t want to do anything different. Tech is very quickly on that slippery slope of being a losing program which leads to not being able to recruit and any current players of any caliber transferring out. Right now we don’t have much to go by of anything being any better next year.

Apparently we can’t recruit after going to 2 straight regionals.

We'd have close to 10 more wins now if we had decent (not great) pitching. We got some really bad pitching pickers.

I can’t remember a pitching staff at Tech this bad.

That's the alarming part.

Can you sum up what he said? I didn't get to listen.
-
Re: Inside Tech Baseball Debuts Monday
I’d say Burroughs is focusing on a perceived effort that he thinks is good and not any winning results. It’s simply the old Holtz spin of we competed… I think Burroughs has lessened his expectations of this team because both the coaches and players have proved that even together they’re simply not capable of playing at any consistently higher level. Tech doesn’t have the leadership, drive or enough skilled players to be a winning team.

The above. He is heaping praise on bad play (and effort) because he knows he is at fault.

Re: Inside Tech Baseball Debuts Monday
They have to win tonite at Brown-Stroud...
If not the season is going to go from an out of control spiral to a death plunge -
-
Re: Inside Tech Baseball Debuts Monday
3 in a row and counting -
Our lone hope for a win at Reckling is Finch - if he is off we more than likely get swept
I think we are all seeing how valuable Silva was to this program

Re: Inside Tech Baseball Debuts Monday
But the pitching thing is just pitiful…LB has NEVER been good at who or when and we saw that in his first year when he had a sure thing regional team but totally blew it with mismanaged pitching and HORRIBLE base coaching. He’s already made more base running mistakes than he did all of last year and the year before.

This is just a small sample of what all Burroughs gets wrong in how he manages the team and handles in game situations. I think both of Tech’s NCAA playoff teams could’ve done better and gone further if not for Burroughs bad decision making. We’re all seeing a greater demonstration of this in how this season has gone.
