Congratulations Coach Kim and thanks again for reminding us how really bad the buffoons are who have led and are leading Tech athletics. It really is amazing the longevity of stupid decision making. Reneau should have a plaque somewhere on campus as the idiot who singlehanded destroyed the once great Lady Techsters. Since those shameful days Guice has started working on his leader of losers resume.

And yet, we STILL have Stoehr and hubby leading the spiral down the drain! She has yet to take the girls to a NCAA tournament! Oh wait, she runs a decent program and was once a Lady Techster herself! You are right they will never be back to what they were, and another poster is right, 99% of the people don't care anymore.
In the current landscape of college athletics for a school like us, throwing money at a program to get beat in the second round of NCAA as opposed to the 1st round of the WNIT is a wash at best be really a waste. Do what needs to be done to stay compliant and put the money into things were there is a possible ROI every year to every other year, or if that isn't and option shut it all down and to hell with it at this point.

But, beyond all of this, is this reality: she always wanted to attend LSU and be a part of LSU. She admitted she only agreed to grace Tech with her presence due to strictly, self-serving reasons. As a player she wanted to play for national championships and at that time Tech offered her the best chance vs. SLU and LSU.
Bottom line is Tech (Reneau) had ZERO chance of retaining her as head coach. Had he agreed to a 5-year contract (which he effectively did anyway), she would have just found another excuse to move on. Now, she is at LSU, the very epitome of classlessness. pigtails is finally home...

In our presentation to the WAC we made a commitment to increase support for men's basketball if we were admitted to the league. That meant the Lady Techster budget was going to be frozen. Not cut, just frozen. That's the reason Kim asked Reneau for a verbal guarantee of a 5th year. Personally, I think he should have given it to her. But he told her he couldn't under the law.
At the same time, it's become clear over the years Kim was never going to accept those budget limitations. She might have been Tech's coach for a brief period, but it wouldn't have lasted long. The break might have been more amicable, but it would have always be inevitable.
HD says we got in the WAC because of our WBB program.:laugh:

(11 national championships, all as head coach), and Pat Summitt (8 national championships, as a head coach) with pigtails aka prune face, shown with 4 national championships...well, that is just TWO as a head coach, still behind Tara V. of Stanford with three. So...in nearly 40 years in WBB pigtails has been a part of 4 championships. Hmmm...not particularly good, if you ask me.
But, since prune face has mastered college WBB, maybe she needs to take her act into the WNBA. :shocked2:
