Any thoughts? How bad will it get? What are you planning to do instead of watching/listening to the game since there is obviously no interest?
Hope the app works.:furious3:
Don’t even know time or channel it’s on.
I’ll check the score later.
Sad how far Tech football has fallen in my interest level.
I’ll listen, but we have projects and real football to watch.
They have a running QB, so it will be as bad as they want it to be.
I will watch and will cheer on the dogs no matter what... It would take a miracle to pull off an upset in this one, though.
This game has the potential to be as bad as like the days when Tech first moved up to what was 1A. You know 67-3 or something like that. It feels like we’ve fallen that far. I know our talent is actually better now than it was back then but we’re not coached well and it appears to me that we don’t play with much heart. Even now I’d bet Cumbie is making mistakes getting ready for the game. He comes across as completely overwhelmed. With so little success and so many things to improve on throughout the whole team he sure spends a lot of time coach-speaking which sounds ridiculous coming from him.
Both Tech and Nebraska have fallen on hard times. For NU it's been decade+ of decline, for us, we are in our 4th year of chit. For today, at least, the Huskers get a little reprieve. They really suck, bad! But that won't matter today: Nebraska 38 Tech 13
Hope I'm wrong, of course.
That’s probably not far off. We were 21 point dogs last I looked.

Watching OU/Cincy. Quick passes into all areas of the field. Designed QB keepers when receivers drag defenders out of the box. Very few run plays, but at specific moments after the defense is stretched. Looks like a lot of fun.
Of course, then OU qb coughs it up in the red zone.
Well, we got 1 first down on that drive, that was a lot better than I expected.
Has QB coach ignored Turner? His accuracy issue shouldn’t be an issue at this point even if he hasn’t been the starter.
1Q nearly done and 0-0, didn't see that coming.
Beautiful return for TD erased by holding.
Very nice drive to tie it up!
Turner is the better QB.
And it's not even close.
The offense flows so much better with these quick passes opening up runs.
I believe we look better on offense today than in any other game this year.
What we need is a turnover.
For a supposed passing offense Tech sure can’t catch the ball very well.
We still need a turnover
Wow, can’t believe we are lucky to be tied with this terrible team at half.
7-7 at the half.
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
Almost got that turnover
Then gave up 15 and have a guy down
Whichever team plays with the least and smallest mistakes will win
Great defense out of the locker room.
Did I say great defense?
Why would any team not run the “I” ?
I thought he made it. Don't run into the line judge if you want a favorable ruling
Ruling stands after video clearly shows it's at least much closer.
I think we got screwed there.
He was past the line to gain when he caught the ball.
Yep. We got screwed on that one.
Cumbie continues his very questionable decision making in not getting Tech some points. Evidently he hasn’t smartened up from last game.
Another missed opportunity
At some point, we have to catch a break when we are actually in a game.
Please God, give us SOMEONE who's not afraid to FAIR CATCH a punt, so we don't lose 20 yds of field position on almost every punt. I've never seen a team start so many drives from inside their own 5 yd line as LA Tech.
Throw the ball down the field and at least make their DBs play defense. We might get a catch or a PI. Throwing to the side is giving up.
Cumbie gave away points and any momentum on that 4th down go for it blunder and then to make it that much dumber he runs something totally predictable into the strength of their defense.
Blitz isn’t getting home. Don’t drop 8, but don’t blitz either. Just stay home and cover someone.
What's wrong with these players and all the stupid personal foul penalties?
Obviously we never had a chance to win this but I hate when we don't take advantage of the opportunities we do get
Tech always has an interesting inflection point where the wheels come completely off
Refs ain't helping
And the refs have taken completely over this game
The zebras have won this game. Not saying we would have won if the game was called fairly, but we'll never know because the refs have decided they want NU to win.
Boy, talk about quitting. This team has just quit.
Yeah, that's game. The Nebraska QB... NEBRASKA!... made a 72-yard rushing TD.
215 yards of offense isn't going to cut it, for LA Tech. Ever. Against anyone.
At some point, if you're truly going to "COMPETE", you've got to move the football with some offense. Tech still can't do that.
Would there be anything more pointless than a rain delay here
I hope this delay lasts for hours. It would serve everyone right for their bad deeds.
Lots of quit, no strength and conditioning. No defense. No offense. And Teddy Allen was talking about things to build on. By game 5, the boat is built. Now all you can do is pray it floats.
Because of who Tech is and our weak stance in football we’re getting disrespected by the officials. We take being cheated way too easily. The same was true under Holtz.
It’s strange how much better Tech does when they actually challenge the defense and throw the ball forward down the field. Throwing sideline passes along the line of scrimmage when the defense is more athletic is just stupid.
Penalties:
LA Tech 8 for 63 yds
Nebraska 6 for 55 yds
That difference is very insignificant.[/QUOTE
Poor spots and penalty wave offs aren’t reflected in your stats. Killed the momentum for the Dawgs.
Had minor surgery recently. Nurse came and and I was talking about the Saints. Said he would never watch the NFL again because of the "NOLA no call" -- "Refs are crooked. I like college because it is above board."
!!!!
Like for real? He should watch some sports scandal documentaries. It impacts every level.
One of the biggest effects a ref can have is with a spot, not just with penalties.
Game 5 the boat is built? It takes years to build a successful/ sustainable program. It’s all about vision/viewpoint/attitude/administration. Tech can develop a vision, we are at the bottom so the view is not good, lots of room for improvement/ can we improve? We need a new President that can see the potential and has the ability to influence and sell a new vision to people that have a pessimistic view of things.
Next game start Turner again and call the plays like we’re 3 TDs behind. Play the whole game like the 4th quarter is half over. That’s when we run the best version of our offense.
28-14 isn't nearly as bad as it could or should have been.
Turner needs to find more options other than Allen and Harris. He needs to work on accuracy and receivers need to work on catching the ball.
Penalties are killing chances mostly because they seem to happen in inopportune times. Fix those, especially the stupid personal fouls and sideline encroachment.
There are pieces there that, if coach and team can get it together, we can pull off at least 5 wins with what remains.
That spot fiasco, with (what should have been) the benefit of replay, was criminal.
The pass interference that they picked up the flag on was just as bad. I told my wife when they huddled up that they were going to do it, and they did.
I made the effort to check their game thread on their Rivals forum. There was unanimous opinion that Tech got screwed on that spot. They then were dumbfounded that we tried to go right at their best defensive player, their nose guard, on 4th and one.
Stayed in the game for the most part. Beat the spread. Whatever...
I'm still seething over the total S show our HC put together last week against a HORRIBLE team.
We are still 1-0 in conference and our record is about what most of us thought it would be right now.
Not saying much but Turner is better than Bachmeirer. (sp?). Turner's long throws are awful, they float like punts, but he did complete a couple and we got shafted on a couple of non-DPI calls...oh, one was called but then changed.
The game was lost when it was 14-7 and we got absolutely screwed on that spot at their 27...excuse me, their 28, although we had actually reached the 27. It was an obvious first down when it happened live, even more obvious in the replay. Then a STUPID QB sneak...my dogs were screaming at the TV, WTF!!! they said. But then, lost in the moment of the stupid call, the refs managed to screw us again by placing the ball back on the 29. Not that it mattered, but they wanted to twist the knife some more and gave us a 1 1/2 yard loss on that play. Oh, not to say we wouldn't have lost anyway, but that key losing moment would have come later, as it was, the robbery of the spot at that point = Game Over.
I am on record as saying Coach Crummy ain't got it. He didn't show me anything yesterday to cause me to reconsider. Yo! Crummy here's a freebie, pump fake that STUPID WR screen to Smoke and then have him go up field. The opposing DBs are jumping that play and they will bite on it. We ran plays like that when we were 10 playing touch football on a vacant lot.
CUSA is so pathetic, surely, we'll manage another couple of wins. I am staying on 4-8 prediction.
You’d think that by how Cumbie calls plays that he doesn’t know who the other team is, who their players are or that he’s even watching what’s going on in the game. I sure wish I’d counted up the number of times he called an obvious wrong play for a particular situation. Just guessing I’d say it’s at least 8 and that’s in every game. Like I and many others have said his 4th down gambles and the plays he calls in those situations are downright stupid. About the only person probably jumping up and down with praise is Sharky.
UNT and NSU were idle, but of our other opponents:
Liberty 38 FIU 6
TCU 34 SMU 17
Not exactly ringing endorsements of how we faired against them.
BTW, I think it is stupid how SMU poses as "Dallas." Heck, just change the name of the school to the University of Dallas if you're ashamed of Southern Methodist University.
If you charter members of the Bulldog Barks and Bytes CCC Club gave an honest response, you would have to admit that the Dawgs performed much above your expectations yesterday. However, when you are so mired in the negative, it is impossible for you to do so. It appears to me that if you guys totally ignored Tech athletics your lives would be happier.
Appears to me if the Tech Athletic Department(and the 16th Floor) would stop ignoring Tech athletics our lives would be happier.
As for the NU game, I had predicted 38-13, so yeah, the Dawgs faired a tad better. Yippee! as moral victories are the best we can hope for, I am thrilled today! :icon_roll:
As usual you’re commenting on something other than what I said. I didn’t say one word about the team’s performance or about them losing by less than predicted. Whoopdido! What I said was that Cumbie is a stupid play caller when it matters most which is absolutely true. If you’re basing your happiness on Tech losing by less than predicted then why be a fan at all. There’s nothing achieving in losing. I assure you, my happiness is centered as far as possible from anything Tech.
Well, when you have to be perfect just to be in the game, and a call like that goes against you….it can set you back. Add on a waved off PI call. No doubt kids today don’t have near the mental fortitude of previous generations.
“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.
I am extremely happy to know that Niche named LA TECH the top public university in Louisiana and the Best Value College in the state. LSU was ranked second and ULL was third. When the private universities were lumped in with the public universities, LA TECH was ranked number 2. WOW1
U. S. News and World Report again ranked LA TECH as one of the best universities in the nation. WOW!
Of course, this POSITIVE news means nothing to the CCC boys. Why? Well, to begin with, it is POSITIVE--something their negative minds have a difficult time grasping.
