21 point underdog. Generous.
That's all? Know where my money is going.
52-10 them
NC State won’t even know Jech is on the field. Crumble will be shell shocked from the opening kickoff all the way to the final whistle. 51-9.
The fact Nicholls was able to hang with LSU for as long as they did gives me just a glimmer of hope that Tech won't get blown out by NC State. I'm not going so far as predicting a Tech win however. I'm glad it is an early game so I can get on with my Saturday even if Tech gets crushed.
Does Buchanan scarf a hamburger before KO?
Turner made some bad throws. So did Baker. I seems to remember more good throws from Baker. Am I wrong?
i'm cautiously optimistic about our defense. hard to tell against nicholls in the rain. if we can complete more passes to receivers than defenders, we may have a chance of keeping it close because of the defense (if they really are that much improved).
regardless, it would be foolish to expect a win at this point. i just hope to see three things:
1. defense proves they really are significantly improved.
2. offensive line opens a few running holes and protects the qbs.
3. qbs take care of the football.
i'd be ecstatic with 10-24 loss at this point of the season.
Hard to evaluate when he is a redshirt Frosh getting thrown in there in a wet game 1. Probably has a limited knowledge of the playbook. Also, he wasn't in sync with his WRs. Understanding the condition he was under, he was below average on accuracy. He did connect on pretty nice zip pass.
Enjoying our last day being undefeated.
Could always be worse, we could be as horrible as the NSU Demons, sheesh 🙄!
NC State got pounded by Tennessee 51-10 last week. The week before, they were in a fairly close one with WCU (Western Carolina Catamounts??????) with a final score of 38-21. They are mediocre, at best, but it will be a huge challenge to stay within 10. They need this one badly, as they face #22 Clemson and #25 Northern Illinois in the next 2 games. We are sandwiched between top 25 teams. Ever the eternal optimist (as you all know), I am hoping to see our defense hold them to 21 points and have a chance to win at the end. :D
Yep, pinning my very slim hopes on our defense being for real and keeping us in this one. This SHOULD be it for Crummy. Dawgs get spanked then Crummy should not survive finishing the season. What will a close, competitive loss mean? Well, it gets Crummy another week.
At this point, I will take Skip’s catch phrase. We competed. I want to see improvement, in the play and more importantly the play calling. College football may quickly become Texas, Alabama, and Georgia then everyone else. Even with a 12 team playoff. We should be able to play a good game against other schools who also don’t have a $70million payroll dressed out.
My excitement for today is I ditched DirecTV and switched to YouTubeTV. I'm actually watching the game. That's a win for me. BUT, can't Turner manage a first down on the sidelines with just a step? My goodness son.
Their QB is missing some easy TDs and keeping us alive
Excellent catch at the 5 and beautiful run for a TD!
Wow! 71 yd TD
Just tuned in. You're welcome for the TD, haha.
Pick!
57 yard FG!!!!
Certainly an unexpected turn of events
That 2nd quarter was straight out of the twilight zone. I can’t watch anymore of the game though, I know we’re gonna Tech it up at some point.
Well that didn't take long
There’s the team we are so used to
Yep, Turner strikes again.
We've turned the proverbial corner...it's downhill from here...
Honestly amazing how quickly we can bleed out our own momentum
And the bubble has burst!!!
Mojo is completely gone. Fascinating
#8 seemed scared to make the hit. Luckily, did enough to have the receiver step out of bounds.
Just hope we don't let this one get away and we end up blown out. This is where Crummy's "coaching" gets revealed. Hold on to your hats.
This drive is going better
Clear interference on that pass
Can anyone explain the rationale for going shotgun on the 1 yard line?
Lots of moral victories forcing FG’s. Is that all we can hope for now is being happy we barely got beat? Come one Dawgs!
Either our run defense is pretty good or NC State can’t run the ball. Still, no pressure on the QB on pass plays.
Good grief. That was even worse PI
Getting robbed
Lots of moral victories forcing FG’s. Is that all we can hope for now is being happy we barely got beat? Come one Dawgs!
Teddy acting surprised that CUSA refs are missing calls
Malcom is wrong. It’s not a busted coverage when it happens over and over and over.
Getting embarrassing
We are poorly coached. We're being out coached. Our play calling is questionable at best. We look lost. QB is not good regardless of what the announcers say. Can't tackle. We look gassed. We're just not a good team.
This is where we get out coached. Our last possession was horrible play calling.
Hope one of the things that's on the list for the next coach is that their coaching philosophy includes playing all four quarters.
These announcers are acting like beating the worst team in FBS by 10 points is some incomparable feat
I want so bad for us to be good again, but I imagine that won’t happen.
If we don’t get a first down and go three and out its over
We have more yards on a fumble recovery than rushing
No flag...again
What the hell was that
Cumbie needs to be fired immediately
Welp, that was game.
Wow we go under center in middle of the field but not on the one foot line? Incompetence.
Unfreakin’believable!
Jeck gonna Jeck
The most frustrating thing for me is, I think we have the players to be successful. With a decent coach, we would win this game and many others.
I”ve never seen a team going into the half with so much momentum come out of the half so flat. That”s a complete lack of coaching. Tells me everything I need to know about this staff.
As long as Crummy is our coach, I am into moral victories. Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the dozen+ "no calls" against their defense. Usually when there is blatant holding by a beaten CB you at least get a flag. Nope! not today.
The typical Jech game. Given a chance, can’t really capitalize and then when the other team wakes up and gets series, Jech can’t really do shit and of course Crumble coaches like he hasn’t got a clue what play to call.
We know exactly what to expect the rest of the way. Offense will show flashes on about 2 drives per game. Defense will play well outside of the 3-4 big plays they determine the outcome. Formula equals loss.
I watched this game. It was the most obvious display of biased referees I have seen in years!!! Even the TV announcers commented on it. No holding calls on N C State and no pass interference calls!! TECH got screwed!!!! In my opinion, the ACTUAL SCORE WAS: Tech 20, N. C. State 16, Refs 14.
Did I see these were CUSA refs? Screwed by our own? Ours or theirs it doesn't matter. There were some blatant no calls. I'm SO tired of that. Just means, though, that you have to play better and coach better. You have to dominate and that ain't happening with LA Tech anytime soon...
Bad enough we have what looks to me to be the absolute worst fbs program in the country, but how come we also have the absolute worst radio announcer to go with it ?? Dude needs to be assigned full time to the lady Jechsters and NOTHING ELSE. My ears still hurt from listening today.
At least we wore good uniforms, one of my favorite combos, especially the helmets. Good job on the attire!
Yep, the zebras screwed us, but we still have HUGE gaps in the quality of our play, and even HUGER gaps in our coaching. Yeah, we can go back and discuss the different decisions throughout the game, but it won't change anything going forward. We're stuck with Coach Crummy & Staff for the rest of this season for sure, and probably 2 years beyond that. But...
Two key points, involving special teams:
1) you ALWAYS rush the punter, send two guys in trying to block the punt and/or be there in case the punter has a problem, like what happened yesterday. Missed opportunity
2) kick the FG when down 10 pts in the 4th qtr, make it a one-score game. Yes, kicker might have missed the FG, but it's the right call.
Oh, and 3) if you're gonna gamble, put the whole game on the line with a 4th down call, make it a good call.
With a new president and AD it’s time for Jech to speak up about league officiating. Don’t let them, whoever it is, be allowed to continue screwing Jech with the biased calls. Don’t think for a minute that every CUSA official wouldn’t rather be aligned with some other conference because they absolutely would. If making some bad calls or not making the right calls benefits them with a future bigger conference job I wouldn’t put it past one bit to help a bigger conference team. Now I’m not looking for Jech to be helped by conference officials like all other conferences are by their officials but within our own league we need to be pounding a table top about absolute fairness. Bad officiating can’t be tolerated. It’s too impactful to players and coaches livelihoods and for their family’s stability too.
After rewatching the Tech game. I give Crumbie a “D” on play calling and our offense a generous “C-“ on execution. Crumbie calls way too many plays that are too close to the line of scrimmage where things are too congested and we lose any advantage of knowing the play because our competition is too fast. There’s nothing new about this which only goes to show that Crumbie isn’t learning anything about what’s been wrong in the past.
