RUSTON*– The Louisiana Tech football team will play its fourth and final weeknight game as it travels to Huntsville, Texas, to face the Sam Houston Bearkats on Tuesday in a nationally televised contest on ESPNU. LA Tech improved to 2-1 in weeknight games this season after defeating UTEP 14-10 last week to move to 3-4 (2-2 CUSA). Sam Houston comes into tomorrow's matchup already bowl eligible as they sit at 6-2 (3-1 CUSA).

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
Not that I want to watch us lose again, but another game not available without paying an extra $100 or so per month. Such a lame “national coverage” package by Judy, our AD, and our president. I pay less than $10 per month for espn+.

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
Really good drive to open.
Shame it ended with a whimper, not a bang
-
Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
Jech will be Jech. Trick or trick. Happy Halloween. This is going to be hauntily spooky. Crumbie is like the undead. He never goes away.

7 more field goals should be enough to maybe win.

Not if we keep fumbling

Bullock is a serviceable passer but can't think quickly. You're in the EZ, get rid of the ball!

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
We have so much room to grow just to get to what I could classify as anemic.

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
Beautiful interception there on the 4th & 1. Just like Cumbie drew it up

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
Bulldog pussies, crumbie’s team (small c)
-
Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
Overall defense is better than I thought they'd be this game. Not great but not bad. Guess they don't have Cumbie calling stupid plays for them
-
Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
Complete collapse en route

Y’all gonna have to learn to stop complementing this team. Defense was collapsing until a very lucky interception.

I'm trying to inject some positivity but they are determined to make me a fool

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
Fumble again just as we have momentum before half. Are the players being paid to throw games?
-
Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
Things like that make it impossible to be positive in any way.

Not only should Cumbie be fired, he owes us 3 years of damages

There’s a haunting going on. It’s got to be a Gholtz in the house somewhere.

That damage won't ever be exorcized

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
3-2 at half.
And Crumbie still isn’t fired.

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
Stop dressing QB’s and direct snap to #6 every play.

Skip would win a natty with this defense.

You've got it backwards. That only works if you're playing AGAINST Jech

I think every defender got a loose hand on the runner on that TD run. No ability to tackle

We had our chance to jump out in the first half. Cumbie screwed us and that was that

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
We can say with great certainty that we are watching the worst football team in Tech history. Every year I say it can’t get any worse, and every year crumble proves me wrong.

This team is abysmal! The coaching staff is second to nothing!

Right on the goal line and this idiot runs a sweep fumble
-
Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
We are not gonna get another shot like that.

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
No confidence is fundamental football. Terrible execution. Maybe Jech needs to practice 2 a days again.

There’s your spark from Turner. Led to the house burning down.

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
Obviously Jech’s ball handling skills suck. I wonder why Jech is so bad at the fundamentals. I think it’s a lack of practice repetition.

Well, if we’re being honest, he did try to run off tackle on 4th and 1 at the SHS 6, ignoring the fact SHS had 10 in the box.
-
Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
I mean, we all made rightly deserved fun of Holtz's consistent scoring woes but 3>0
-
Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
AD needs to step in. If he's not going to do the right thing and FIRE THIS IDIOT then he can at least tell him to stop calling these trick plays
-
Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
I'm not sure I've ever seen worse play calling. We can't even hold onto the ball and you expect these guys to run complex tricks?

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
The fade has worked what, one time in the last 20 years for us? DELETE IT FROM THE PLAYBOOK.
-
Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
Crumbie is most definitely calling the crunch plays that aren’t working. He absolutely can’t help but to screw things up.

This a shut down the program for the rest of the season, fire everyone, release all players, and start from scratch loss.

On paper anyway this will not look nearly as bad as many of his other losses for which he should have long been fired. SHSU is a much better team and this should have been a blowout.

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
It’s all been said before but it has to be repeated until something is done, Crumbie is completely incompetent. It doesn’t matter the reasons why. It’s simply that he can not coach his team to win. The guy is a loser (period)!

Bingo. Winners win. Losers lose.

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
We had a great crowd at the Life Choices banquet last night held at the DAC. Anticipated an equally packed house for night 2 tonight. Best crowd at the Joe in 2 years.

Glad to hear all that investment is not going to waste being used for Jech "football"
-
Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
Pitiful. Tech had so many chances to score in this game and blew each and every one in almost comical fashion.
Bless the D for holding the winner to 7 measly offensive points. Our O gave them their other 2.
-
Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
I wonder if Crumbie or any of our coaches get fired up about any of this bad play? I’m not necessarily talking about grabbing face masks and shaking some sense into any particular player but somebody has got to snap some of our players out of this putrid funk we’re in. This crappy football can’t continue. Up and down the sideline all I see is Crumbie clapping like a madman while he looks like he’s about to jump out of his skin. He looks about as nervous and uncomposed as how our team performs when they’re in a pressurized situation. What’s that saying, what you see is what you get. Well, we got it and we got it bad.

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
I kept expecting our defense to join the party, that is the woeful party. Thought SHSU would score 24 points in the 2nd half and win 26-3. I never thought our anemic offense would score another point, and they didn't. But, the defense held up fairly well, which they have been doing all year. We have a pretty good defense, certainly good enough to win this lousy league...if we had an offense with a pulse.
How does Crummy keep his job? Oh, I know, Henderson doesn't give a chit, he's only in Ruston to draw a fat paycheck. This joke of an AD is clueless too.

Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
This team is a mirror of it's coach - no confidence whatsoever
Sad thing is - with any offensive leadership this team could be 6-2 or 7-1 (a strong argument could be made that they should be)
I have no doubt he is gone - they just aren't going to fire him until most likely the end of the season or he gets the 7th loss
Why pull a promising RS Frosh who has lead two crucial 4th quarter drives the last two weeks for a 6th year senior who looks like a deer in the headlights every time he steps on the field during his career?
This isn't a NIL problem, this isn't a COA problem and I don't think it's a talent problem (especially for this conference) - it's 100% coaching and prepardness
A running back not presenting a pocket on a hand-off
Fielding a punt inside your own 10 yard line
Play calls from your on 3 yard line and inside your opponents 10 yd line on multiple occasions
A senior QB giving the rb a handoff up in his shoulder pads at the opponents goal line
Defense really played well except for basically one run play
Cumbie is so bad its turning from comical to sadistic...
-
Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
My kids don't believe me that Tech used to win games. They thought I was crazy that there was such a thing as "home field advantage" because "we never win when we're at home."
Fortunately, they don't ever have to watch a whole game because they're always at 9:30 on a weeknight thanks to our fearless leaders.
-
Re: Preview: LA Tech at Sam Houston - latechsports.com
Actually bothered to tune in and watch the whole game. Unbelievable. Only way this team can look any worse is to run the wrong way and intentionally score points for the opposition.
It truly sucks that badly.

Lucky to win 30 in baseball with no pitching and the guy who has been developing the pitching has been promoted :shocked2: Sorry, I know you care about the other two sports, but I just don’t. Haven’t cared about MBB since Mike White was choking every year
