ONLY two weeks until "Last season...on '24'!"
Best show on TV. Let's get it on.
I just watched all 5 seasons on dvd this fall. Greatest show or movie available right now. Can't wait for season 6. Will be interesting to watch with commercials and having to wait a a week between shows.
Anyone caught the teasers Fox is playing all over the place? I'm going nuts!
Hurry up, 24!
The first episode of season 6 is awesome. Episode two is pretty good so far...
How ydo you know? Do you have it?
Thanks for the links, but I have not been able to bring myself to watch them yet. For some reason I want to wait.
spoilers here:
the BCS, Hillary and Spinoza ae the bad guys
Man - I am having "24" withdrawals. I can't wait for Sunday. I might have to play Splinter Cell to pass the time.
Last season on 24...
Man, I can't wait for tomorrow night. I wonder what the ending to hour 4 is?
Last night had no big plot twists, pretty much setting out the lay of the land. You can figure tonight ought to get pretty interesting.
After this past football season, and the way things are looking for both the men's and women's basketball seasons, it's good to have a "24 Season" to look forward to.
Jack, don't let us down. Looking forward to tonight!
Last night and tonight were the only episodes of 24 I have seen other than a short glance when it first came out. I must say, I am pumped up over this show. I guess I now have to rent all the back episodes.
Jack killed Curtis. Wow!
the final 5 minutes may have been the most emotional 5 minutes I have ever seen on TV, much less 24.
The bomb just sent Jack over the edge. He will essentially be a bounty hunter it appears. he will do his job to take out the bad guys, but he seems to have little regard for the good guys as well. He will support President (little) Palmer, but only to do the right thing. I bet many good guys get taken out this season.
RIP Curtis
I see Chole biting the dust this season. And maybe Bill or Karen Hayes.
Who needs enemies when the President has a sister like this one . . . I guess he doesn't have a wife like the other Presidents who in the past seasons have provided a sideshow break from watching Jack's heroics.
Because she has such good viewer appeal numbers, I think they'll keep her this season. That's why they have the two guys fighting over her. To me, Bill looks particularly vulnerable this year.
How many of the remaining "visitors" actually are set off over the course of the season? They've got 4 of them.
After waiting so long for it to return, 24 didn't disappoint...pretty intense last night.
Really! Thought the boyfriend was going to b#*&^ slap her when he was trying to tell her about the conversation he overheard in detention and she was talking to him about civil rights.
He's probably the most vulnerable guy on the show right now, being a good guy stepping into doing the undercover thing on his own. Look for people in the government to start pushing him to develop more information which will lead to a greater chance of him being discovered.
I still can't believe Jack shot Curtis. I liked Curtis but I also like Edgar.
No more Curtis. Man what a show!! You never know who will be next. I really liked Curtis though, wish they hadn't done that.
My favorite part was when Jack went pit bull on that guy and ripped his throat out with his teeth. The only thing that would have made it more over the top is if Jack would have swallowed the blood instead of spit it out. Then, he could have said that Muslim blood taste good. Finally, he would have picked the guy's lifeless body up and wrung out the rest of his blood and drank it out of pleasure. That would have been true JB-style.
on Larry King Live RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!
less than 5 hours until the next installment of Jack & Co...
Guess I'll have to record it tonight and watch when I get in.
Wonder if Jack will do the pit bull thing again?
okay, I'll start tonight's reviews . . . .
WOW!
What a family!
Okay, I just saw the previews for next week . . .
WOW!
The Bauers have an interesting family tree.
Can you believe that guy is Jack's brother. These writers are the best.
And they held it from us all last season . . .
Crazy stuff. I wonder if they knew they'd make him Jack's brother last season...or if they just figured that out recently?
I was completely shocked. I usually tell the wife what is going to happen on the shows we watch including this one. She tells me to shut up that she does not want to know. Even I did not see this one coming and her dad. I think his brother's son is Jack's son.
You might be on to something, cuz it looked and sounded like Jack and sis-in-law used to be an item. Guess Jack gives bro another chance since his mug appeared in the preview for next hour.
tm
I thought so the minute I took a look at Jack, his brother and his brothers son. The son doesn't look anything like his father. This is one we got out in front of the writers on or again, maybe we just think we did. The kid could turn out to be a terrorists son.
I just watched this last night on the DVR because I was busy Monday night. I never saw the brother twist coming either. I thought it would be cool if Jack's father was played by Donald Sutherland, but the previews showed somebody else.
24 hours till my weekly fix of "24"
Last night I finally got to watch last week's episode. Now I understand the earlier comments. Nothing like a little brotherly love, and this is nothing like brotherly love! Can't wait to see what Dad's going to bring to the table. One way or the other, you got to figure he's a piece of work.
11 hrs 13 minutes until: "Previously on 24"
After watching the previews, confirmed that there's no way Jack's brother could keep him and his father under control. (Looks to me like Jack will end up with his brother's wife, however). Couldn't tell if Daddy Bauer will still be around after next hour. Doesn't every high-tech unit need a Chloe??? And Milo's sign on may sign him off.
Hour tonight started slow for me but finished very fast.
tm
Yeah, maybe this president will show some backbone next hour to his inner circle. . . and when Karen goes back to CTU will she have conflicts with our beloved Chloe?
tm
We need some Aaron Pierce...and we will get him very soon. Maybe he will put the clamp-down on Tom.
Hell yeah! I almost forgot about our boy Aaron Pierce! Now I'm really pumped.
tm
I bet the President brings Aaron back when he's got to have someone he can trust to help Jack out of a tight spot.
Also, don't you figure Karen Hayes will deal some misery to Tom once she gets to CTU. She left the White House way to easy. She's bound to have something in mind.
I thought the ol' man was looking too weak to be Jack's dad. Tonight we saw his true colors. At least little brother got his due.
I can't say I was surprised, but it was a great plot twist anyways! Only 6 more days until the next episode!
That weasel got what was coming to him. Poor old Morris, he's toast I figure. Maybe I've been watching to long but I had him pegged as the one the terrorists were after. I was in front of em on that one but there maybe more twists with old Morris before things are done.
whoa, baby. just watched the dvr tonight. don't get chlose to Chloe (couldn't resist).. . Should a major confrontation with Dad and Jack soon after autopsy reveals whatever was in fatal injection.
Still looking for major hookup with Jack and Marilyn . . . (there are always sparks flying between Jack and someone!
Less than six days before the next TWO HOURS of "24"!
Only 5.75 hours until 2 more hours. Wonder if Jack finds out Papa was bad tonight or not until in the season. I thought most autospy results took like 2 weeks, but I'm sure CTU will get it faster than that. Looks like Morris might bite the dust tonight.
After two hours it was looking like Jack finally was going to get sentimental and reunite with his father . . . . not!
Told you so! Sis-in-law still has eyes for Jack, but we'll see next hour where that's going. I predict it was just a tease.
What a loaded two hours.
I really enjoy the show with all the twists and turns. The one thing the bothers me is the over exageration on techincal capabilities. For me it detracts from the plot. I would rather that they not have everything at their fingertips in a moment's notice.
It's about to get ugly between Jack and his dad. Expect lots of collateral damage in the battle of the titans.
IMHO, the use of technology was one of the reasons this series reached the tipping point with the viewing public years ago.
One thing about the technology is that you have to remember this is about 8+ years in the future. I had a timeline for the show at one time and lost it. Anyone seen it or still have it?
According to my research they are about 6 years in the future (2013).
Day 1 - March 2004 - aired in 2001 on the day of the next California Presidential Primary, which would take place in 2004. The primaries are usually held the summer before the Presidential election. California had held their primaries in March beginning in 1996, but moved it back to June in 2004. In 2001, this had not yet been voted upon so Season 1 is most likely dated as March 2004.
Day 2 - September 2005 - 18 months after after Day 1
Day 3 - September 2008 - 3 years after Day 2
Day 4 - March 2010 - 18 months after Day 3
Day 5 - September 2011 - 18 months after Day 4
Day 6 - May 2013 - 20 months after Day 5
Even if it is 8+ years in the future, there are some things going on that are not going to happen. One that comes to mind is the blueprints for every structure they want. Those types of datbases just don't exist and will not exist unless extensive intelligence research is completed. There are other discrepancies that also come to mind such as the use of cell phones in secure facilities. I have known people that have gotten fired for even bringing those types of devices into secure facilities. Sory if I changed the tone of the thread or discuraged anyones enthusiasm for the show. It is still an exciting show to watch.
WW, I know and thought the same thing last night when Tom and Reed were having cell conversations in the bunker, but it is a TV show and is going to bend rules.
It rocks!
24 is for entertainment purposes only. I know many people that will not even watch the show because of the ridiculous nature of it at times, but that is what makes it a show. Rather it be Jack ripping a dude's throat out with his teeth, disarming a bomb with nary a second left, or never getting seriously hurt after being shot at or bombed over 1000 times, 24 is the over the top. That is what the people want to see, though. The technology just goes along with the theme of the show: Over the Top.
It'll be interesting to see what Jack does to his old man when after he finds out he was behind the ambush and has taken his nephew hostage. Man, we're talking some bad family dynamics here.
You just knew the slimeball President from last year would be back at some point this season. It's getting interesting with this years President, is he gonna get whacked or not.
I guess we haven't seen the last of Jack's dad. I suppose he'll be back down the road.
I really don't know where to start with this president Palmer fighting for his life throughout the episode.
So, I'll start at the END.:icon_razz:
SS agent Aaron Pierce is in the final scene of next week's preview!! Looks like he's the protection for the wife of the Nixonesque former president, Logan. I knew he'd be back . . . and so will the ex-Mrs. Logan.
Okay, now things are back to normal . .. just as we were starting to get attracted to liking the Russian consulate security type who believed in Jack. But, he was then whacked by his countryman before giving out important N-bomb details to Bill Buchanan at CTU.:(
Hard to believe the Veep is still after the Mideasterners while CTU is planning to attack the Russian embassy.:icon_roll:
And that Chloe, how does she fly under the radar from even Buchanan and everyone else at CTU??:icon_razz:
No sign of Jack's dad. . . yet.:bomb:
And I didn't even get around to Tom Lennox, the spinning weathervane. He doesn't stand a chance with the truth with this Veep looking for permanent residence at the White House.:bigcry:
Anybody else fired up about next week??:)
tm
I am, and by the way, anyone seen Beehrooz?
Aaron Pierce had to come back into the show at some point. BTW, bringing back some earlier posts from this thread, any of you guys still think Curtis will be back or did Jack really kill him in the first show.
I seem to think the option is there. Jack knew where he was shooting . . .
Wasn't that Russian consulate guard in season one, too? Anyone else notice that? He had the same accent then, too. I'm not thinking there's a connection there, it's probably just someone they liked as an extra, but it was interesting, nevertheless.
I am way fired up about next week!
I haven't read the whole thread to bring me up to date but I was wondering if anyone noticed that the phone number they gave out last night wasn't the typical 555 number used in TV shows?
Yeah, kidnapped twice . . . in one 24-hour period.:shocked2:
The previews had us fooled. The prez is dramatically revived from a coma and immediately kicks the Veep's arse off his nuclear warheaded arse. What modern medicine:icon_wink: in getting the Prez going again! Karen Hayes is a go getter for the Prez, too. And the Prez's sister actually acted normal and made a decision. Tom Lennox, her nemisis, can't decide on what side of the constitutional fence he wants to sit. Now the Veep wants to prove Prez is not of the right mind to govern.
Can't wait for the next hour of . . . . "24."
tm
Okay, Tom Lennox pulls the trigger on the VEEP with a little bug. But the Prez, after regaining his position, has launched the Veep's choice of missiles anyways.
And Jack gets shot in the previews??? Sure he's got a flak jacket on underneath . . . too many weeks (hours) left.
tm
Are they setting up Doyle to be the next Jack?
Now Doyle taking over for Jack isn't something I'd thought about. Could be. There's still a whole lot of loose ends to tie up before we're done this year.
I have to say I was surprise by the change in story line. I thought they would save the Audry story for next year.
this is the most irrational season of 24 ever. it has always stretched the bounds of logical probablity, but this time it's out of control. that being said, i still watch it every week.
btw, if ricky-freaking-schroeder becomes jack's replacement, i'll have to seriously re-think my allegience to this show.
At times I think Doyle will do okay if he's to replace Jack. For now, he's portrayed not as smooth as Jack when alongside him. However, he DID track down Jack.
At first I thought they were going to do a skin peel on Audry to reveal a Chinese underneath. However, looks like she's been royally brainwashed.
So who's coming to replace Bill Buchanan. . . . Aaron Pierce???
Four more hours. Still lots to do as the acting Prez establishes a relationship with his assistant. Guess Tom Lennox will get involved in exposing that, too.
"Next . . . . on 24!" four more times.
tm
I really liked the action when I first started watching the show. However, they really need to get some better technical advisors and cut back on the internal termoil amongst the CTU people. Those types of personal problems would never happen in the heat of battle. People in jobs that require on the fly technical knowledge are much more professional than protrayed here. Sorry to be such a stickler but my wife is now hooked and I have to vent where I can so I'm not sleeping in the dog house. Funny thing is that she also has experience in that area too but not on the technical side.
24 has lost its edge this season. I'll keep watching to the end of the season to see how it turns out. But the show may have run its course.
Not sure if the Shark has been officially jumped. This show always requires you to suspend some belief. From the first season I think Jacks daughter was kidnapped twice, in the same day! Audry could have been brainwashed to kill Jack or her father. Morris is a dead man, they should go ahead and put a red uniform on him. Either Cloe or Morris will have to program the board for the Chicons, probably Cloe and Morris will be killed in a desperate rescue attempt. Any way I can't see Jacks character having much more play, but this show always surprises.
