We have the lead coming out of the locker roon and we called 6 rushing plays in the second half. 6 rushing plays!!! :furious3:
YES, they had 8 in the box. We also had runs on two of those plays of 6 yards and 17 yards (not counting Champion's run of 13 as that was a passing play).
YES, actually completing a pass would have helped, but we let THEM tell US what we were going to do. We did not IMPOSE OUR WILL on them. Hell, we didn't ATTEMPT to impose anything on them. WE HAD THE DAMN LEAD, and we let THEM dominate the rest of the game.
Here's another point: People keep saying that we had to pass the ball with 8 in the box. We had Wheeler injured, Joe Anderson injured, Shawn Simmons injured, Womack dropping balls, Livas dropping balls. Here's an idea. Bring in a 6th OLineman, drop a WR and cancel their 8th man in the box. 6 OL, 2 WR, 1 QB, 1 TE, 1 RB. You can run and throw from this formation just fine. It's the same as the 2 TE formation, but we have a OLineman blocking instead of the TE. Make it Rob McGill since we recruited him as a TE anyways.
We ran 3 wide almost the whole second half. We lined up D-Mo outside one time and I believe that we called a running play.
