Sorry Lum. I have to contest that one. At least the ones in the politics board. Over there it's just madness.

That's exactly my point! I've read the board blitzed enough to be able to put myself into aub's (and to an extent, spinoza's) mindset!

This is quite an interesting thread. Which is worst in man law - reminiscing about the Techsters or enjoying the blue balls for the Alabama win publicly or privately.

Man Law #7 does not necessarily apply right now in Manassas, VA. I was up there about a month ago and they were running public service ads on t.v. telling folks to "don't flush unless you see brown". Something about their water reservoir drying up, or such ??
Whole town stinks right now.

Just for the record, I was not contesting Man Law #7; I was merely giving an example of the fact that some possibility for exceptions perhaps should be allowed ??
Man Law #9:
No separate poll shall be taken re any Man Law for minor exceptions to said Man Law.

Revision to Man Law #4:
Any Tech Student/Alum caught wearing any other school's gear to a TECH athletic event shall be immediately demoted to Heaux-Meaux Status. Pennance for said offense shall be the singing of the Tech Fight Song and/or Alma Mater in the quad in their underwear during lunchtime. Until pennance is served, Heaux-Meaux status is maintained.

Man Law 8 was not in response to your virginia story. It was just addressed in general.
-
Re: Man Law according to BB&B
Man Law #10:
Every Tech Student/Alum is to know the words to the Fight Song AND the Alma Mater. The second verse to the Alma Mater is optional. For punishment, refer to Revision to Man Law #4.

Re: Man Law according to BB&B
Amendment to Man Law #10:
"And to hell with lsu" shall be recognized as an acceptable alternate ending to the Fight Song.

I totally agree.
Also 11B all Tech fans must stop talking about the 1998 Nebraska game. While it's nice we broke all those passing yardage records, ......we lost. They hung 56 on us and beat us by 30 points. That is not something to look fondly upon unless your name is Troy Edwards.

Re: Man Law according to BB&B
I wholeheartedly support Man Law #4 and the revision, and would like to suggest that any Heaux-Meaux's who wish to continue to wear LSU gear will only be permitted to wear them in pink...any violation will result in the offending Heaux-Meaux's being stripped to their LSU underroos and branded with the State T logo.
Also....
Man Law #13: If you wish to remain a contributer to Latech BBB, you must submit at least one contribution to the "Best Thread Ever II"...and no pictures of a pregnant Spears sister
Man Law #14: If your phone number can be found on a bathroom stall of a men's room in any building on campus, your LaTech BBB priviledges will be suspended until you find the infraction, eliminate it, and replace it with your favorite professor's home number.

They already claim that we have penis envy. Saying their name in OUR beloved fight song only adds to the claim.
Why can't we just all say to hell with LSpoo right now and not even bring up their name with regards to anything TECH??

I second this, we do not want to be like the Aggies who are more obsessed with beating UT in anything than actually being good in anything. It is petty.

man law:
if you graduated from a div 1a university and are bigger fan of some other university's athletics, bb&b members will pity you, but never take you seriously.
addendum: if the university you graduated from is Tech and you are a fan of lsu, then don't expect to get any kind of respect on this site of any kind. and may God have mercy on your soul.
-
Re: Man Law according to BB&B
man law: do not post threads in the football forum about any other university unless it is news that directly affects Tech (i.e. conference mate, near future opponant, competing for recruits, coaching changes that could affect Tech, etc.).
the proper response to such a thread is to ignore it and let it suffer a quick exile to page 3.

Addendum 2: You are, however, allowed to be a fan of any other D1 university* to even an extreme extent, so long as the level of fandom does not exceed that of your alma mater. Also, financially supporting another university's athletics without at least a 2 to 1 match to Louisiana Tech University is strictly prohibited.
* Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana State, and Fresno State Universities are strongly discouraged, but acceptable under the most extreme of conditions.

Man Law: Recruiting is a season too.
Man Law: You must know all the professional HoF for your favorite sport that played at your favorite school.
Man Law: College football is closer to high school football than the NFL.
-SEC fans may disagree but the SEC is not comparable to the AFC, the Big XII to the NFC, the Big Ten to CFL, or the Pac 10 to the AFL.
Man Law: The WAC is better than the Sun Belt.
Man Law: The JUCO is not a rival anymore but it is still fun to make fun of them.

Re: Man Law according to BB&B
man law #n:
if a man finds himself in a situation where he is forced to go clothing shopping with his wife, any of the actions listed below are strictly outlawed:
a. running back and forth between the dressing room and clothing rack to retrieve different sizes.
b. making suggestions as to what she should buy (other than lingerie).
c. generally any active participation or any expression other than extreme indifference and/or boredom.
the following are acceptable actions in such a situation:
a. wait in the car and listen to espn radio (may not be a comfortable option in the summer).
b. go to the men's section and buy a shirt and pair of jeans without trying them on (if done correctly, this should take no more than 5 minutes, so this one will have to be done in combination with others listed).
c. wait on the mall bench and try to occupy yourself with your cell phone and people-watching.
d. spend the small amount of cash she allows you to carry on a cinnebon and shiatsu massage (this is a great combination, by the way).
exception to man law #n:
a man may partake of the actions forbidden in man law #n only if he is simultaneously trying to get into his wife's good graces and trying to get out of doing work at home (as i was yesterday). even in such a situation, he may not enjoy it, and frequent subtile signs of boredom must be displayed.

For beer drinkers only: Regardless of age, social or economic status..a beer drinker should stop at an at least somewhat shady store at least once a year..purchase a cheap beer in the 24 oz can or 32 oz bottle and drink it with the paper sack STILL on the bottle/can. Never forget where you came from and you're sure to go far.
Amendment #1: Bonus man-points added if beer is consumed while sitting on an upside down 5 gallon bucket behind your garage/carport or an old school lawn chair with at least three strands missing.
Amendment #2: Bonus man-points added if any pickled, fried, or heat lamp food product is purchased from same store and consumed at the same time as the beer. Double points if said food product is the real-deal fried pork rinds.

NO!
You're "shady store" really should be looked into.
I have seen many stores that are fine and I would eat from. But there are those that have raw meat sitting in open tubs in walk-in coolers that barely pass as cool. Where you know the floor is wet but you don't know why. The places your feet stick to as you walk. The places that are selling alot more than 40's when the clerks walks out of the cooler with a bottle already bagged. You really shouldn't eat anything from there.
But there are plenty of places that are OK. Infact there are C-Stores that I would eat at before resturants. Scary but true. Marketdawg, PM me your "shady store" and I'll check the ends and outs of it for you. Oh, and just because it's a chain store and LOOKS clean doesn't mean you should eat anything from it.
As far as the act.... I'll MAN LAW that.
But you don't have to be stupid.

Man Law #397.124.856b
There shall be no threads started to complain/belittle lsu, their "fans", or tech traitors on any of the Non-Dawg Pit forums. It is already understood that all three of those are completely worthless. While some of it is amusing, and often dispicable, save it for the Pit.

The new JC Penney's on Youree in Shreveport has a couch and a TV by the dressing room.
Otherwise I fine the best thing to do is walk around the store and see what you can get into. Posing the mannequins in suggestive positions, setting all the alarm clocks to go off at the same time, swapping womens shoe to the men's side, the possibilities are limitless.
