Does anyone know if the jamboree for this date will be changed. This will be a serious problem for attendance for Miss ST. Teams involved will be WM, Neville, Ruston, and many more North La. teams. All support groups will have to attend. This will take place AT ulm .
I highly doubt that they will change the date for the Jamboree, but it starts at noon so one could attend both games if they wanted to do that. At least two of the games will be over before the start of the Tech/Miss St. game.

Sad state of affairs, when we have to worry about "competing" with a Jamboree for attendance.
One day we'll be beyond that stuff. One day, the Jamboree folks will be worried about competing with us for attendance.

This will definitely hurt big time. These fans will not make the game.
We should have pushed harder for a Friday night game then. We should have planned better. I put this on us.
Teams / schools from all over the country move game(s) all the time because of events.
You can't please everyone. If you move it to Friday, then it'll be hard on out of towners. Also that'll be the week when students arrive to move in.Quote:

I will say this, I suggested months ago that we start marketing the Aug. 30 game ASAP and Tech has responded by doing so. I do not ever remember hearing about season tickets in April with headline games featured.

Yes that is a significant number. Several hundered I'd guess. Several hundred may not sound like too many to lots of folks, but many of those are avid Tech fans and many Tech season ticket holders who will not be able to attend because their son or daughter is participating that night. I really hate it for those folks who love Tech, but won't be able to be in Ruston.
Have these games played at the same time will cost both the Jamboree and Tech fans. At a minimum it would be nice if if Coach Shows (a tech alumni) and Ruston High could find a way to get their games played early considering those two school will have the largest contingent of people who will want to attend both games. Maybe AD/Coach Dooley should give Shows a call.
Mad, this is gonna hurt more than folks think. About half of our tailgating group will probably be out. I will be there, but my family won't. They better go after another group of fans, maybe in northwest, la.
I don't think this will hurt our attendance:icon_wink:
Let's see. It's Jamboree and the dorms don't open until the next day. What else can we do to make sure our stadium is full of Ms State fans? Let's all think hard.
Why are high schools playing on Sat. night? Isn't it supposed to be
Fri. - high school
Sat. - college
Sun. - NFL

How about a pregame Brooks & Dunn Tailgate party concert? Tech could build a temporary stage in the parking lot...or on the hill between the TAC and the west side of JAS. The concert could be a 1-hour deal lasting from about 4 pm to 5 pm. Then everybody would break up and pack the stadium for a 6 pm kickoff. :icon_wink:Quote:

I would be very disappointed if we decide to change our game time. ESPN prob have it scheduled already for 6, so I highly doubt anything will happen on our end.
I figure all we (Tech) will be missing out on is the parents/kids who are in one of these games and who are also Tech fans.
