I always liked Matt Damon. I thought he was smart enough to keep his yap shut about politics. Obviously not; thus, I won't be running to the theatre anytime soon to catch his movies...no matter how good they may be. He is in the same league as Sean Penn now!
I like FAG, but its Screen Actors Guild.
FAG, SAG, doesn't matter, they all GAG........
I'm not going to boycott his movies just because he's dumb enough to open his mouth. If we did that with everyone that opens their mouth, there wouldn't be a movie available to go see!
This guy has been a liberal mouthpiece for several years. Hell, the whole cast of the "Ocean's" movies are all socialists. Most of them do good deeds with their celebrity and should be applauded for that. To boot, they are also all really good actors (in my opinion), Damon included. I really enjoyed the Bourne series. But these guys are morons whose opinions are no more valuable that anyone else's -- they just have a platform from which to spew their liberal angst. The only way they will ever learn a lesson and keep their mouths shut is when their popularity starts to fade. People who don't agree with them can and should make that happen. Then, when they can no longer make the money they were previously making, we will see just how much they actually believe the crap they've been spewing. In the end, these guys are all about making money, maintaining their wealth, and being adored and loved by their fans. If Clooney, Damon, Penn, and Baldwin never worked again, I wouldn't lose a bit of sleep.
What a bag of hot air!
There are plenty of John Wayne, Robert Duvall, Jimmy Stewart, et al. movies out there!
Only Liked:
John Wayne - The Longest Day, Sands of Iwo Kima, The Quiet Man, Hellfighters
Robert Duvall - i know he's been in some movies i've liked, can't think of any though
Jimmy Stewart - The Glenn Miller Story, The Flight of the Phoenix, and that's all i can remember him in...
i suck, i know... i'll watch more one day, just no time right now
You don't suck...you're just young!
The Searchers was the inspiration for all the Star Wars movies...one of John Wayne's best. In Harm's Way and They Were Expendable are 2 good WWII films.
Duvall is classic in Open Range, Secondhand Lions, and Tender Mercies...but I don't think he's ever made a bad movie.
Stewart is great in Winchester 76 and Anatomy of a Murder; of course, he was great in most of his movies.
He's pretty to look at, but really needs to shut his mouth. One of those things that should be seen and not heard!
Is it a requirement that Matt Damon "know" the candidates? If he doesn't "know" her, maybe he should shut his prissy little mouth about her.
And he gives her very little credit for being a Mayor and Governor.
Guess Sarah should have been a community organizer.
You talk about Duvall with no mention of Lonesome Dove? Liberals are taking over the world.
Can't wait for this!!!!

Complete Berlinale coverage
BERLIN -- Historian Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States” is being adapted into a feature documentary.
Called "The People Speak,” the documentary will feature dramatic readings and live musical performances from the likes of Josh Brolin, Viggo Mortensen, David Strathairn, Marisa Tomei Jasmine Guy, John Legend, Q'Orianka Kilcher, Michael Ealy and Kerry Washington.
Four performances in Boston at Emerson's Cutler Majestic Theater have already been shot and a planned spring shoot will have Matt Damon, Sean Penn, Eddie Vedder and Steve Earle, among others.
Damon, along with Dan Fireman, Ara Katz Art Spigel of Artfire Films, as well as Carolyn Mugar are producing. Zinn, Anthony Arnove and Chris Moore are exec producing. Damon has long been a fan of the book, throwing in a mention in his "Good Will Hunting,” as well as narrating the audiobook.
Cinetic Media is handling domestic sales while Cinema Management Group, headed by veteran international sales and distribution executive, Edward Noeltner, is overseeing worldwide rights, launching the project at Berlin.
The book, first published in 1980, presents American history through a bottoms up approach, focusing on voices seldom heard in history books such as defiant Indians, mutinous soldiers, striking workers, and rebellious women.

Historian Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States” is what happens when a Lib picks and chooses parts of history to make a point...I hate to say i have a copy of this piece of crap as i didn't know anything about him or the book till after I started reading it...
GF II was better than GF to me.
I liked II, but the original is my favorite.

VITO CORLEONE
You can act like a man!
(then, after slapping Johnny on the face)
What's the matter with you? Is this how you turned out? A Hollywood finocchio that ah cries like a woman?
(then imitating Johnny, as Tom giggles)
What can I do?! What can I do?!
(then)
What is that nonsense? Ridiculous.
[Sonny enters the room]
VITO CORLEONE (to Johnny, after glancing to see Sonny enter)
You spend time with your family?
JOHNNY
Sure I do.
VITO CORLEONE (to Johnny, but toward and about Sonny)
Good. 'Cause a man who doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man.
Duvall and Caine torque in Secondhand Lions!
Guys. How can we possibly be talking about Robert Duvall without mentioning his classic portrayal of Harry Hogge in Days of Thunder!?

"You see Cole, next time Matt Damon runs his 'ol mouth off like that, you gotta put his sissy ass in the wall."
Yeah, but that was Cool Tom. I prefer to think of them as two separate people. Back then he was kicking ass and doing cool stuff like flying F-14's and killing commie Russians.
Ever since he got brainwashed by scientology and started hanging out with Oprah and Madonna he has pretty much been a douche-bag. Although I do think he is a good actor and like a lot of his movies, I just don't care for his real-life weirdness.
"Harry, I'm dropping the hammer!"
I like most of his movies...
Just really, he could learn how to act though... He's been pretty much the same character in every movie (in which he is lead) with the same everything just about. Really gets annoying sometimes when I watch a few of his movies close together...

Gone in 60 Seconds. Not his best movie by any stretch, but I can't ever change the channel when it's on.

The Apostle is one that not too many people have seen, but it's a great movie... even with Billy Joe's acting.
