HUGE Road Games This Week
Thursday night @ Charlotte - Although they are 12th in the conference standings with a 4-8 record, the 49'ers have a lot of talent. They had a mid-season slump after their coach took a medical leave of absence. Over the last 3 road games, they lost by 4 at ODU, by 5 at UTEP, and beat an improved UTSA team by 8 in San Antonio. This is a game we cannot afford to overlook.
Saturday afternoon @ ODU - The Monarchs began conference play in the top 25. Currently in 5th place in C-USA with a 7-5 record. Lost last 2 games on the road at UTSA and UTEP. They could have a crowd of over 7,000 for the game against the Bulldogs. They will be seeking a win to get a top 4 seed. It's a tough place to win. They are 13-0 this season at home.
When we had WAC road games, I would hope for a split of the two games. Now I think we need to win both of these games on the road to stay ahead of UTEP (10-3). UTEP has a home game Saturday night vs. UTSA before they take a trip to Ruston for a game against us Thursday, February 26th. This game could determine who gets the #1 seed.

if we can take care of UTEP at home on the 26th, we can afford to split this road trip.
Looking at the remaining schedule, WKU will drop at least 2 more games. ODU will drop 1 or 2 also.
UAB may go 5-0 with the easy remained games. UTEP will go 4-1 with the loss in Ruston. We will have to go 4-1 or better to stay no.1 seed.
Re: HUGE Road Games This Week
The last two road trips we've lost the first game and bounced back the second game. If having the #1 seed is one of the goals for this team then we'll have to win both of these next two.

Yep! I believe we can do it too. If we do, it will give us a lot of confidence going into our last home stand. We can't overlook any team. ODU is going to be tough, but we can do it. The biggest test will be UTEP in the next week. They are going to come in angry at how we handled them at their place.
Re: HUGE Road Games This Week
CBS SN has the Thursday game at 6:00.
CST and ASN have the 2:00 Saturday game. I suppose those of us who don't have CST can watch online via ASN?
Re: HUGE Road Games This Week
Say we split this week, then win the remaining 3 games at home. We are the #1 seed aren't we?

Yes
Re: HUGE Road Games This Week
I will say again. I know not everyone has satellite dish, but my options for watching Tech football games and basketball games have gone WAY UP since we got in C-USA. Now our athletic department needs to go get a deal done with Shreveport and Monroe TV stations to broadcast every game which is produced by ASN and is easily available.
Re: HUGE Road Games This Week
Just win Thursday, then worry about Saturday
I want an outright title - haven't won an outright title since 1999

Agreed! To get the outright title would be a huge accomplishment!

Our athletic department says it is up to ASN to get this done.

Same here! I am loving DISH with the sports package included. Watched more on tv than ever in Tech history for me.
Re: HUGE Road Games This Week
Would y'all want the #1 seed if UAB finishes #4?

The general consensus was #1 for the NIT fallback when I asked a few weeks ago. So many variables as to the remaining seeds that we just have to do our thing. As DFM declared would happen, we did get some help.

Yes -
Regardless of who sits in the #4 number hole, #1 seed is the best...
This team still hasn't won an outright conference championship
I think UAB will be the #3, UTEP #2 and ODU #4
