New Gannett "beat writer" for Tech/Grambling/HS
After Gannett tortured Louisiana Tech fans with 3 consecutive LSU fans covering Tech sports part-time, the good news is we no longer have an LSU fan on the job: https://twitter.com/CoryDiaz_TNS
However, the big disappointment is Gannett is still treating Tech like we aren't a major college by splitting our beat with Grambling. I hope Cory doesn't turn it into the Grambling/SWAC beat like Isabella did. Tech is the only FBS school Louisiana Gannett doesn't cover like an FBS school. LSU has a full-time beat. ULL has a full-time beat. ULM has a full-time beat. But Gannett splits coverage between the second best program in the state (Tech) with an FCS athletic program that is DI in name only (Grambling).
Please let Gannett know it is unacceptable for them to split Tech's coverage with Grambling, and they should treat Tech just like they do LSU and the ULX twins:
Scott Ferrell, Sports Planning Editor, sferrell@gannett.com
Judi Terzotis, President, jterzotis@theadvertiser.com
Jeff Gauger, Executive Editor, jgauger@gannett.com
Barbara Leader, Editor, bleader@gannett.com
Let's hope Cory is a lot better than the last 3 LSU fans covering Tech and as good or better than Ethan Conley. It's been a while since we've had somebody covering Tech as good as Ethan.

Isabella covered Tech? Must have accidentally passed through Ruston on his way to Grambling.

This is a conversation our AD should have had with all these people before this change in personnel. And our president since our AD didn't get the job done.

Anyone wonder whether the ULX twins pay for the publicity?

Lafayette is the only game in town besides lsu.
nlulm doesn't really get much coverage unless they are trying to play MeTooU with us.
It's silly to continue our business relationship with Gannett/TNS, but I bet we keep sucking up to them.

Here's some "publicity" for ya:

At least, there's a poll attached.

It really isnt fair from an objective standpoint.
ULM is a dumpster fire.
ULL is a dumpster fire but the dumpster has gold-colored paint on it.
Tulane isn't a dumpster fire but is in a conference with moderately high expectations and an almost impossible recruiting area. This is the only other one that deserves consideration just because of the university itself.
Tech is in a great recruiting area, is in an easy conference with some other good teams (easy to go .500), has a long, long history of extended success, it's very easy to win here, etc.
Re: New Gannett "beat writer" for Tech/Grambling/HS
I don't believe that Tech has a long, long history of extended success. Way back in the 70s we had great teams for the division we were in. In the 90s we had a couple of good seasons including beating Alabama twice (but losing to an actual underdog USC). After winning the WAC we bombed for a few years to have one good fair year (8-4) under DD and two good years under Dykes. So now we have three bowl wins in a row (but that's not a long, long history). We have a history of ups and downs and right now we are doing well so we should be the best G5 team in the state. But if we lose HCSH we might plummet again for a couple of years. Our all time record according to Wikipedia (updated?) is 604 wins versus 451 losses. Thats only a 57 % winning record. But let's keep on improving.

Down years tied directly to Dan Reneau.

We are 20 years behind where we could've been had it not been for Reneau. That goes for football, men's BB and baseball.
