HOLTZ to Arkansas -- ad AD

Just read in the on line Times that Holtz is rumored for the Ark. AD job. Maybe he would make a better AD that HC.

I think he would make an excellent AD, long as he does not meddle with the actual game. That would be a Soloution at Tech, of course that means a pay cut. Skip is well known and has a lot of connections that could help him get a program lined out.

The Arkansas AD makes more than a million per year.

Would Holtz make a hire like the last AD at Arkansas made? I thing he would and I think he would hire old friends before talent.

I agree. If they want to keep the slow paced Big 10 style, they will hire someone like Holts. Not sure Arkansas will sell tickets for that.

Have I been in a coma? I didn’t realize today was April Fools day.

The article I read is that he is rumored for the Head Coach job at Arkansas, not as Jeff Long's replacement. That is if they replace Bielema.

Holtz is WAY to much of a nice guy to be a good AD. I'll take the Dooley type as my AD.

For AD, they are now saying Long was too detached and businesslike.

They want a back slapper with Arkansas lineage.

Firing Long was dumb...an overreaction to his talking with Nebraska.

I would like for him to stay as HC at Tech, eventually moving to AD and Rattay becoming HC.

Many criticize Holtz, but he is a pretty good coach and arguably the best HC Tech has had since moving back to the highest level of college football. Even this year, though disappointing, Tech is 2nd in the conference in TO margin and 3rd in the conference is least penalty yardage. Those statistics reflect good coaching. Poor QB play has been Tech's problem this year. It seems to me that our QB was improving the first 3 or 4 games, then became stagnant or regressed. We need him to have a good game Saturday and I think he will and Tech will win.
