typical USL thinking.
Those waterboys down there can't read a newspaper anyway. At least that's what their momma's said.

Don't let this stuff get to you. The simple solution is to save these articles and when Tech is once again where we expect to be, we send them into the papers who have printed them and to the idiots who have written them. There is one thing I have to say about these people though. They do have the perfect mentality for sports that I hope our coaches, especially football, develop. Pile it on when the person is down. The fact of the matter is that these people see a chance to dogpile and they are doing it. The know they have to get their shots in now because they won't be there in the future.
"Blue tarps cover huge sections of unsold seats at Joe Aillet Stadium."
We don't have "blue" tarps, they're black...and with a centurytel sign on top. We didn't get our tarps from FEMA.
If he's talking about women's basketball, who cares? As for football, the WAC looks pretty strong. If I'm not mistaken, we finished third in conference the year before last. The same thing for men's basketball. Like I said, girls' hoops are completely irrelevant.
You better believe this will be on the show today. Hope the bulldog nation calls in to dispute this.
Here's my response:
The sunbelt would jump at the opportunity to land Tech. Don't kid yourself. Secondly, this article is ridiculous. Tech should've stayed in the sunbelt for the betterment of women's basketball? That's just crazy. This years WBB National Champ will break-even...that's it. When Tech joined the WAC, they had conference mates in Houston, Tulsa, Dallas, and El Paso. Being passed over by CUSA was a failure on the part of Tech's administration. There's no question. However, getting into the WAC was a good decision. These homer articles don't even provide concrete numbers. Tech's increased budget is "probably" eaten up with travel costs? This stuff is public record. It'd be nice to see reporters actually put some effort into their stories.
Whatever is Tech going to do? This Tech fan will take Boise St. and Nevada anyday over Troy and UNT.
Tech's football has struggled the last few seasons? Like 7-4 last season and 6-6 the year before (while playing Miami, Tennessee, and Auburn). This guy doesn't have a clue. He must've gotten his journlaism degree at a belt school.
I bet he wrote that article before their 29 point loss in the ncaa. I think they found out how good their league really is.

» Football in the Sun Belt is so competitive now that winning the conference
» is no easy chore and SBC teams are regularly beating teams from what used
» to be more highly-regarded conferences, including the WAC.
This got me thinking... Maybe the Sun Belt is making improvements and I am just not hearing about it. So, here goes.
