No it's a fact.... statistically speaking.

Well, if you're going to stretch the definition of facts to include statistics ...
Re: Louisiana FBS Football Overall Records So Far
There are facts and then there are damned statistics.

I have always been interested in the Sagarin Ratings, and have made a hobby out of studying his work. If you look at the Louisiana FBS schools over the last 21 years based on final yearly rankings. The ranking would be as follows:

Thanks for saving me the lookup later. I knew it we would be ahead, but not by that much. Wow!
Re: Louisiana FBS Football Overall Records So Far
Just for fun, I also looked at just the last 10 years (2008-2017). LSU, Tech and ULL would have all increased in the rankings, and poor old Tulane has sunk to the bottom (when you eliminate the two Shaun King years, 1997-1998).

Yeah, for sure.
I totally think that if we'd had some permanent home and home series with them and had played them 20 times in the last 20 years we'd be pretty firmly on the overall winning side of that. It probably wouldn't quite be 18-2 or anything like that, but I think we'd have won way more often than not. We'll never know, and the fact is they've won in the few times we have actually played (which were all in the 20s and 30s except for 2).

LSU has it's gauntlet to run, and they won't emerge unscathed. But, truthfully, while I monitor other in-state schools, like I follow fellow CUSA schools, I only care what we do.
I care to the degree of having our conference compete well. no gloru in beating up teams with lousy teams. Obviously I am glad that NT beat Arkansas and got attention not just for NT but also the conference. Beating NT meant so much more ( especially Bowl time)

No stretch needed. 2/20 or 8/100 would not be a sufficient sample size to reach some conclusion by any measure, but I get that you were just going for a gotcha. You just messed this one up. We all have off days.

No, I still maintain you are conflating facts and correlation.
Or rather, in this case, a lack of statistical significance with a fact to the contrary.

Well I maintain that you are misinterpreting which part of the statement I was claiming to be a fact.

Ok, got it now.
I think we are on the same page. I regret the oversight.

Just playing with you. I appreciate you pointing out non facts presented as facts. You're doing us all a service.
