Moving forward with the development of the student housing project to build 16 three-story student housing buildings which would house around 877 students along Adams Boulevard and California Avenue. The student housing building project is expected to start in Spring 2016 and is expected to take eighteen months to complete. It appears that the student housing will be almost all double-occupancy programmed for the freshmen and sophomore students at the university. Approximately 1,000 street level parking spaces would also be created as a result of this project. The proposed bond issue will be about $100 million with proceeds being used to finance the new student housing and parking project and to refund the remaining portion of the Series 2007 Bonds which were used to help finance the student housing improvements in 2007.
This is Important.

There will be a lot of construction going on next year at that part of the campus with the College of Business Building expansion, the new Engineering building, and the South Campus student housing project.

Merging the Department of Agricultural Sciences and the School of Forestry is going back to the old days when we had the School of Agriculture and Forestry back before they changed the names of "Schools" to "Colleges". Seems like they called it the College of Life Sciences when they first went to "colleges".

The School of Agriculture was expanded to the School of Agriculture and Forestry in 1945 when a forestry department with a forestry curriculum was created.

There something seriously wrong if construction of the COBB expansion is still going on next fall.
I'm sure it doesn't help have 5 or less workers on site at any one time.

I know this was just discussed, but i'm asking again. These dorms on Adams will take up/ruin Duddly Circle green grassy area? If so, that's really sad.

Well, we are adding a ton of green space elsewhere.

Dr Guice has pledged to get LA Tech's enrollment up to 15K. These new building expansion projects are obviously designed to acommodate that growth.

That's well and good, but it's still sad. It was/is one of the prettier parts of campus, like keeny circle, and it's a shame it "has to go" for progress and concrete. For you young ones who haven't had as many years to be attached, it may not matter. But then i hated to see neilson and caruthers go. Just another part of my happy carefree days disappearing, i suppose.

I definitely can sympathize.

Agreed. Many memories tied to places on campus. It might have been a tree! Where we escaped a light drizzle and a kiss was stolen. Ahem... Anyway, tons of memories of 4 great years in our lives.

No Dudley green will still be there, in fact it will be bigger as the street will be gone
Re: October 2015 Meeting of UL System Board of Supervisors (Louisiana Tech items)
Well, sure, i realize every little thing on campus could have sentimental meaning to some graduate over the years. And, yeah, if/when they chop down big trees, that will be distresssing as well. I just really thought adams/dudley circle were there to stay as part of tech's original heritage/layout. The day they build on keeny circle in the name of progress i will really be distressed. I hate to bring up LSU, as with some my credibility, if i have any on here, may be sorely diminished; but this would be like building on their big grassy parade grounds area. Some places should just be left alone. If by adding green space, you mean green intramural fields where the old mens's dorms were, that doesn't count. I'd rather see a new big housing area there. I guess it's too far to walk, though. Last thought/lament--surely, surely the new dorms they insist on building by pearce and graham will have the same architecture and fit in, unlike the apartments across the rr or the new lambright addition. Ok, pile on!

Interesting how the Baseball and Softball fields are being leased to the Foundation and then the Foundation will install improvements. Then the lease will disappear and the properties go back to the State with the new improvements. Why does it need to happen that way?
