Possible idea for marketing . . .
I think I remember this being discussed years ago. Drivinf home tonight from the Baton Rouge meeting with Coaches Dooley and Rupp, my mind was wondering.
We should have billboards in Baton Rouge (maybe even 2-3 in BR), Alexandria, Covington/Mandeville, Lake Charles, Lafayette, Shreveport, & Bossier.
They should have a picture of the logo, maybe w/ a small picture of the clock tower in the background, and of course www.latech.edu in very big letters with a catchy phrase about coming to Tech. Every major city in LA should have one. This is easy marketing and I know high school seniors that have never thought about coming to Tech would go look at the website and you never know. Just an idea . . . . any thoughts?

I agree. I've always thought that big billboards as you cross the state line on I20 from east and west should read in bold WELCOME TO LOUISIANA...THIS IS BULLDOG COUNTRY!! Also have the same billloards coming from every direction from the south in vidalia and alexandria. Then of course as you get closer to Ruston put up another on every road going in to Ruston.

After the leases run out on the billboards, I forsee LSU leasing them out from under us.

Then you put it in the lease that Tech has the first right of refusal to renew.

Dear Lord, yes.
LSU has a billboard in Dallas.
Unfortunately no one at Tech has thought about this.
We should put the home football schedule on the billboard.

Thats a good idea right there. Every major city should have one. Who is in charge of moving this forward?

FWIW we've had billboards in Monroe and West Monroe year-round for years.
If we had more people like Anonymous Donor, I'm sure that could multiply. This marketing person would have to have resources I would imagine.
