My 360 is crapping out

3 red-lights flash when I turn it on.

Anybody know how much I'm gonna have to pay to get it fixed?

Mine was crapping out a couple of weeks ago and I did the towel trick. A month earlier it crapped out and I had to pay 100 bucks to get it fixed so I say try the towel trick.

Unhook the hard drive and wrap it in a few towels. Let it run for about 15 minutes. Remove towels and let it cool. Enjoy. There are several detailed videos on youtube on how to do this properly.

You're eventually going to have to get it fixed. The towel trick will only delay the inevitable.

I know.

Go to the microsoft website enter the info for the warranty. It will probably say out of warranty but when you continue with the rings of death they should replace it for free.

Mine died and I went an bought another one. I also filed on the site they sent me a box I sent it back and had another xbox on my doorstep in 5 days time. We have a service center in Dallas so delivery time may vary.

I just turned around and sold the other one

I just tried to send the online repair request and I got an error message. Should I call them?

Online was the best way for me to do it. When I called the guy was nice and all but we had a few problems with the language barrier.

The online request went through this morning. They say I'm in warranty for the issue I've got. I'm glad it happened now b/c I believe I would've been out of warranty come January.

depending on where the nearest service center is you should get a quick turn around. Did they send you a box through UPS shipping?

The ring of death wasn't playing. My brand new (complimentary) XBox360 was just delivered!

FWIW I did the towel trick a few days after Boise State and my xbox is still working.

I have gotten the red ring of death. This is my second 360 to brick.
