Louisiana Tech University enrolled a record number of first-time freshmen this fall quarter, and these students are the most qualified in the University’s history.
With an increase of 13 percent over last year’s freshman class, Louisiana Tech welcomed 2,169 first-year students. Their average ACT is 25, eclipsing last year’s all-time-high average ACT of 24.7.
Overall enrollments including extension and graduate students totaled 12,467 students.

I can't believe the average ACT score is now 25. Wow! That's really good for an average spread over 2,169 students. The Louisiana high schools must be doing a great job of prepping these kids now.

The ACT has been dumbed-down since we took it.
Before someone asks, I had a composite 24. Took the ACT in the fall of my junior year in HS, with plans to take it again, that spring, and again in my senior year, if necessary. But that was good enough to get me into Tech, so I never took it again. Mission accomplished. That 24 would be a 27 today. Not great, but then I never claimed to be a scholar.

Standardized testing in general is a terrible way to measure educational aptitude, but I guess if everyone else is using it and judging us on it, might as well brag.
What is the average for students in Louisiana?

And it is only going to get worse (says me the 'old' man). I just saw from my hometown - Lafayette Parish School Board will no longer ALLOW teachers to grade homework.
I didn't like homework but guess what 'It's a life lesson' if you want to succeed in the actual world.

How does the student improve if there is no feedback?

I think it was reported to be about 21 at a meeting for parents of juniors at my son's high school earlier this month. Tech is getting some of the cream of the crop.
