At least we're not 0-8! We put that to rest with a grinding 5-point victory over powerhouse FAU!
Seriously, how can you put a positive spin on this season? "Youth!" I hear. You'd think we'd win more than 1 road game on accident!
Re: M. Basketball. LA Tech Heads to Miami to Battle FIU
We shot 44% from the floor and 92% from the line and lose. Guess we can not give up 53% from 3 and hope to win.

Based on our games this year, I suspect I could double my own 3-pt percentage against the Dawgs. Might even get all the way up to 5%.
Re: M. Basketball. LA Tech Heads to Miami to Battle FIU
What if you foul? You hope they miss both. But if they make one, rebound, and get the basket back they tie... or get a three and we still lose.
Out of all possible scenarios, big three, inbound turnover, desperate three is about as shocking as any other where we lose.
This is just very disappointing.
Re: M. Basketball. LA Tech Heads to Miami to Battle FIU
Another Twilight Zone type game. FIU coming into game one of the worst free throw % in the coutry. Did not miss many times tonite. To make their last 2- baskets to tie and beat us at buzzer, unbelievable.

We've played Texas, Alabama, Marshall, WKU, UAB, MTSU, and FIU in those losses. FIU shouldnt be a loss but the rest arent exactly unexpected losses.
I suppose our other road games arent counting because they were all on neutral courts.

Perhaps our southland a.d. won't award konkol another 1-year contract extension after this season ??

I think so. Probably unnecessary to cut and slice so.

4 more years! and a 50% raise
Re: M. Basketball. LA Tech Heads to Miami to Battle FIU
WOW! 2 prayers answered for FIU player tonight!
Unbeleavible shot to tie the game with .028 seconds on the clock and another to get the win!
Just WOW!

Just when you think we finally turned the corner... and then this.
Terrible, horrible, no good, very bad COACHING. This game falls 100% on Konkol's shoulders.
It feels like we have a decade of basketball mediocrity ahead of us. Konkol just doesn't have it.
Sad what's happened to this once proud program. This year we've now lost to ULL (at home), SFA (at home), UTSA (at home), FIU, Marshall, WKU, UAB, and MTSU. Sad!

Don't feel badly about the loss to the Cajuns. We're 20-3 right now, undefeated in conference and have beaten every conference opponent by at least 10 points. Biggest test comes Thursday against Ga State at their place, they've won 9 in a row. Nothing will surprise me, we beat them, they beat us, blow out, close game, who knows?
I think you guys are right though. Konkol's not a very sound coach, especially in the final minute of a close game. Raise hell with your AD until he does something about it. You deserve a better basketball program. Only the fans can make it happen. Good luck going forward.
M. Basketball. Bulldogs Suffer Gut-Wrenching Loss to Panthers
A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:
There have been some painful end-of-game locker rooms for Louisiana Tech this season.

We've only beaten ULL once out of the last 5 years. Is it really what has happened to this program? Or what has happened to the ones we play as well? UAB was tough before White left. MTSU got GOOD. WKU got better. Marshall got better. UTSA isnt aweful and we basically lost on a last chance shot. They just beat WKU and Marshall. I agree we have declined, but its not as much as you may think. Everyone else seems to have also taken a step forward as we took the step back.
