They claim it's because they'd only have 6 home games (oh boohoo), but if that's the only problem then why not just reschedule the game for a different year? They're cowards and don't want to risk losing on the road to a G5.
$1M for not playing is not a bad deal for any G5 budget. They will probably get the $1m for 2021 too.
