Terrorism Around the World
So many years of the other thread, seems it should have a sister thread by now.
Al-shabab - an al-qaeda affiliated group - attacked a popular mall for locals, ex-pats, and diplomats during a busy weekend for the mall, especially with a children's event going on. People of several races, religions, nationalities, class, etc. are dead. Canada lost a diplomat. Kenya's President has lost "some" family members. Current siege of the mall going on as the assailants are hold up in a store with hostages.

I feel sorry for Kenya. One of the few bright spots in Africa, imo, and there always just something major happening to them ever so frequently. I am in admiration of their President's resilience in great personal and national tragedy; and for his handling of the situation.
Sectarian violence in Iraq continues. Bombings at a mosque, a funeral, and other places have left over 200 dead, many others wounded, all in just the last week. Nearly, if not over, 4500 for the year.

Westgate siege still ongoing. Kenyan police and military mainly, with some international support, supposedly closing in on 5 -15 perpetrators who are in a room "behind bullet proof glass." Number dead has risen to 59. Confirmed dead have been Kenyan, South African, French, Ghanaian, Australian, Indian, Canadian, Chinese, British, Dutch, and American.

Re: Terrorism Around the World
Shootings at Canada's National War Memorial, Parliament, and a nearby mall.
One Guard of Honour shot at the memorial. Unknown condition. Didn't look good. Miniscule relief to know it's not an acquaintance.
Canada's Prime Minister was ushered away immediately.
Picture on twitter shows someone down in an entryway that is said to be the library entrance.

Video of a police sweep through one hallway shows shouting then you hear an explosion followed by several shots fired.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrGqoISd-do
Nothing is really known about the gunman/men at this point. Possibly multiple shooters, but unknown yet. One gunmen killed (unconfirmed). As likely and unlikely as it could be, don't listen to idiot pundits that this is "definitely" an al-qaeda/isis attack. However, this is two days after someone the RCMP claim was "radicalized" killed two Canadian soldiers.
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montre...rcmp-1.2806104
Live footage looks to show police think the gunman/men are on a roof the way they are aiming their weapons towards roofs as they escort people, one at a time, to an armored vehicle for evacuation.

I'm mostly agree witht the talking heads its the "leaking" of Abdeslam talking and what he is saying that is the "cause" of this attack, not that they captured him. That isn't something Belgium could keep quiet.

This makes you seriously question the resolve of Europe's commitment to a War on Terror. Twice in France and now in Belgium and they are still letting Muslims immigrate unfettered into their countries.

Re: Terrorism Around the World
Today moooslims attacked a Christian Easter service in Pakistan. Early reports say 60 dead, hundreds more injured. Both numbers are likely to go up. A peaceful, religious service, people minding their own business....now murder victims. Yet....you can hear crickets from the leftist, lame-stream media, even more silence from the US administration, although one would expect obummer to utter some obligatory statement condemning the violence, some time later today, or tomorrow.
If this had been Christians attacking some mooslim service, it would be breaking news. CBS would even interrupt coverage of the Dance to denounce these evil Christian-types. Then make a call to ban guns in America!
Why have the leftists allied with evil, mooslim terrorists? Is it because obummer is a moolsim, and this is just a show of solidarity from the left with their fearless leader? Maybe some libtard can explain the attraction of mooslim murderers to the left? Woofy, maverick, Jubru....
It might be simply because "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." obummer and his libtard ilk see Christians, good, law-abiding Americans as a bigger threat, and thus the mooslim terrorists are carrying out their plans to eliminate this "threat." So, libtards support those that murder Christians.

"The White House" released a statement condemning the attack in Pakistan. So, some PR person in the WH said, "we better release a statement." Nothing to do with obummer, though.
Still no explanation of why libtards support and defend the mooooslim terrorists, from our resident 'tards. Guess Jubru is baffled again. Woofy is too busy celebrating to offer an explanation, which would just be a lie, anyway. And maverick is trying to connect the terrorists to Jindal....somehow.

Of course you say that. You are just being the good, loyal libtard that you are and defending obummer and his stupid policies. Nothing new there.
But, for the rest of us, we know obummer and his ilk are dead wrong on this matter.
I am reminded of that time Newt Gingrich spoke to a room of libtards at one of those libtard, all-women colleges, up East somewhere. It was during the 2012 POTUS campaign. He was not received warmly...to say the least. But, he did pose a question to the mostly female audience, asking them if they would like to be under Sharia Law, not be able to attend college, wear what they wanted to, be "equal" to men, hold a job (that last one was his mistake, these were libtards expecting to be cared for by the guvmint, they didn't care about a job), and the room went silent....for a moment I thought Newt had gotten through to them. You could see the little wheels turning in their libtard heads as they pondered a future of no rights for women in America. But, nah, in the end, they remembered what obummer had said and they brushed off any concerns. Besides, typical of libtards, why should they care what women in moooslim countries were having to endure, it wasn't them!
Still, it is amazing that libtards are okay with Sharia Law. It is the ultimate "war on women!" Yet, they are okay with it. And you notice the response from our resident libtards here....crickets. Nothing. No expression of disgust with the way women are treated under moooslim rule.

The democrats were back then as they started and ran the KKK "organization". How do you liberals not know nor understand this one?
"During the Senate debates on the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871, it was revealed that members of the Democratic Party formed many terrorist organizations like the Ku Klux Klan to murder and intimidate African Americans voters. The Ku Klux Klan Act was a bill introduced by a Republican Congress to stop Klan Activities. Senate debates revealed that the Klan was the terrorist arm of the Democratic Party.
History reveals that Democrats lynched, burned, mutilated and murdered thousands of blacks and completely destroyed entire towns and communities occupied by middle class Blacks, including Rosewood, Florida, the Greenwood District in Tulsa Oklahoma, and Wilmington, North Carolina to name a few."

4 dead in a shooting attack in Tel Aviv

4 dead in a shooting attack in Tel Aviv
in one of the most harrowing shooting attacks in the current wave of Palestinian terror, at least 4 Israelis were murdered and 4 fighting for their lives in the Ichilov Hospital.
Jun 9, 2016, 1:03 AM (IDT)
Two terrorists, dressed in white button-down shirts, ties and black pants, both from Yatta village in southern Mount Hebron, entered a restaurant near the Sarona Market in Tel Aviv on Wednesday and ordered food, then took out Karl Gustav sub-machine guns and started shooting at people seated inside the restaurant.
As a result, in one of the most harrowing shooting attacks in the current wave of Palestinian terror, at least 3 Israelis were murdered and 4 fighting for their lives in the Ichilov Hospital operating rooms. Two more are slightly and moderately wounded.
One of the terrorists was killed and the other wounded and transferred to a hospital.
Tel Aviv District Police chief Chico Edry said that there is currently no information regarding more terrorists, and called for the residents of Tel Aviv to return to normal. This call, other than the attempt to reassure, is of no great value, because just as Commander Edry had no prior information on the shooting attack, he has no information on what is going to happen in the next hours and days.
Commander Edry also exposes the fact that Israeli security forces did not detect the news running through the social networks since Wednesday morning, claiming that an armed terrorist squad has reached Tel Aviv with the intent to carry out a terror attack.
The fact is that these terrorist were declared missing by the PA a day ago. One would assume that the word of their disappearance did not reach the ears of the GSS and the Military Intelligence who are usually coordinated with their counterparts in Ramallah.
There is no doubt that this attack was well planned for a long time.
The terrorists were armed with two Karl Gustav sub-machine guns, cartridges and knives. It appears they had excellent preliminary intelligence: The Sarona Market has countless entrances and exits and in fact it is impossible to check those entering or leaving the compound.
The proximity to the Defense Ministry and to the IDF Headquarters, the two most secure Israeli facilities, located in the Kirya in Tel Aviv, makes the compound a target of terrorist attacks. With these attacks the Palestinians wish to demonstrate that they can reach these facilities and the surrounding area.
Undoubtedly, there was someone who armed the terrorists, instructed them how to load the weapons, manipulate jams and change cartridges, and how to choose the seating at the restaurant from which they observed the victims prior to the attack.
The fact that the terrorists split and then opened fire on two fronts slightly apart, indicates that someone trained them on a method that will produce the maximum number of Israeli casualties.

Did you watch the video? Not sure if sure link it. The gunmen nonchalantly walked up to someone that was sitting then shot them point blank, then got two others that were trying to get away but couldn't move well due to age, size, and crowd. At first it looked more like an assassination attempt than an attack.
There is a guy in blue that likely saved a lot of people because the gunmen became absolutely flustered between him attacking them with a chair and the malfunctioning weapons (they looked to be having problems firing). Should have been worse than it was.

Shooting in Orlando....
early reports are a moooslim terrorist has shot up a gay nightclub, killing 20 wounding 42 (early numbers). The libtard lamestream media refusing to report this as a possible "radical Islamic" terrorist attack. It is early, yes. But the FBI, on the ground investigating the incident, is reporting this as a likely Islamic attack. We know how mooslims feel about gays....
What we don't know....yet...is this a domestic terrorist act, or if this shooter has recently entered the country. Either way, apparently the motive was radical Islamic terrorism. Just like San Bernadino, Boston, Fort Hood, etc... and it will continue. So, yeah, open our borders and allow tens of thousands of unvetted Syrians to enter. Stupid is, as stupid does.

Obama refused again to call it islamic terrorism today at his press conference but instead went the "hate" crime, anti-handgun and automatic weapons route. Muslims/Islamics as well as the radical ones hate gays and homosexuality and murder them in public Arab countries and of course they are tortured and murdered by ISIS as well. His ex-wife claims he beat her continually for not doing housework etc..Obama is clueless ,in denial or in 100% in bed with Islam radicals and their need and desire to take down America. This feral islamic animal pledged allegiance to ISIS even and the President ignores it.

Re: Terrorism Around the World
50+ people killed by a child terrorist bomber in Turkey. The Turk president says ISIS is behind it. Well, well...
So, yet another terrorist attack by ISIS in Turkey, and yet the Turks still refuse to cooperate with the West, to help the Kurds crush ISIS. Well, Mr. Turk Prez, STFU! You have been working against the interests of those fighting the evil organization, and thus by extension, fighting against the interests of your own country and people. Turkey is so afraid of an independent Kurdistan that it prefers to hamper all efforts to aid the Kurds. And of course, our weak-azz guvmint, obummer/Kerry/killary, are all too willing to adhere to the Turk's wishes. But, can't just blame those three stooges, the entire West (NATO) is afraid to stand up to Turkey.
These effing political games that are played. Now, we all know what would happen if a deal was struck between Turkey and the West, to temporarily aid the Kurds. Help them annihilate ISIS, and then after that war is won, abandon the Kurds again, just as we did after Saddam was defeated.
Speaking of Saddam...I just learned that MOST of ISIS's leadership is former Saddam operatives and army officers. They fled to Syria when the US invaded, taking weapons, supplies, and every WMD they could carry with them. They, being Sunnis, were incensed when the Iranian-backed Shiites took control of Iraq after obummer prematurely pulled out. Without US forces stop them, these former Saddam military leaders organized a militia and invaded Iraq...we know them as ISIS.
From their view point, as twisted as it may be, they were wronged. That somewhat explains the brutality they have wrought during their campaign to take back Iraq. They want to destroy all of Saddam's enemies: the Kurds, Christians, Shiites, and the other religious and ethnic minorities.
This also explains their ability to organize, and their early advantages on the battlefield. Usually out-numbered better than 5 to 1 and attacking an entrenched defensive force, they easily prevailed. ISIS was a highly motivated, and highly trained and organized military force. They were commanded by seasoned veterans of many wars.
But, that early advantage has mostly played out. The Kurds, in particular, have rallied and now have captured enough modern equipment, some from ISIS, but mostly from the idiot Iraqi army of Shiites, that they (the Kurds) have turned the tables and are on the offensive. BTW, moron John Kerry sent a letter demanding the Kurds return that equipment to the Iraqis. The Kurds' reply: bite me.

That doesn't look true Woof. Drunk drivers is the only one that looks legit. I wonder where the stats came from?
-
Re: Terrorism Around the World
I found a couple of stats, and it is pretty close.
Drunk driving: 10,000
Bath tubs: 69 (but only if you are under age 5 or over age 84). It's 0 from age 6 to 84)
Muslim terrorism: 51
Lightning: 33
Elevators: 20
* I think the point is to keep the numbers low though. The more terrorists who enter the country, the higher the numbers will increase, true? Like DawgyNWindow's link shows, they are out to kill and they do a better job in other countries (22,000 deaths in a half a year so far globally). It's insane to discount the threat, imo. There is no telling how many lives have been saved from Muslim terrorim by good police work and government intelligence. Let them run free and I bet the numbers go way up.
-
Re: Terrorism Around the World
Another interesting stat:
School shooting deaths per year: 3
* 17 times more likely to be killed by a Muslim terrorist than a crazy kid with a gun at the school.

For the most part, the school shootings can be attributed to mental-health issues. They are the acts of disturbed individuals. Now, while that doesn't make them any less tragic, it does point to an important distinction. There is not an organized movement of "disturbed" school shooters plotting attacks, like the mooslim terrorists do.

Here's the Islamic Terrorism in the US starting at 9/11:
2001: 3293 deaths. 8900 injured.
2002: 2 deaths. 4 injured.
2003: 0
2004: 0
2005: 0
2006: 1 dead. 14 injured.
2007: 0
2008: 0
2009: 14 dead. 48 injured.
2010: 0
2011: 0
2012: 0
2013: 5 dead. 266 injured.
2014: 4 dead. 6 injured.
2015: 25 dead. 30 inured.
2016: 51 dead. 59 injured.
If you include those who could have been killed by terrorism (injured by terrorists) and those attempts that were averted (arrested before act takes place), it becomes a more serious issue than lightning strikes and bath tub drowning, etc.... :icon_roll:

Half of the dates you posted have a big, fat 0 next to them. I guess there weren't any deaths that year by lightning strikes, drownings, etc. either. :icon_roll:

A lightning strike, bath tub drowning, suffocation by pillow, killed by toddler, etc... is going to remain pretty constant at about 20 to 30 a year. Terrorism has the potential to hit 12,000 a day if it's not caught (as evidenced by 9/11). That won't happen with a spike in bath tub drownings.

I agree with you on that. Gun violence is spiraling out of control.

I'm sure terrorists are FOR gun control in America! Probably why they hit Europe harder than us.

Re: Terrorism Around the World
There's a NewsLeak site you can access on Facebook that often has videos of ISIS doing stupid things. It is hilarious!
A recent one has an ISIS soldier destroying one of their own tanks!!! He was hiding along a road with grenades, and each time an enemy tank would come by he would dash out and try to throw a grenade into an open hatch. He failed each time, usually the grenade bouncing off and nearly killing him when it went off. The videoer was an ISIS creep held up in a building near the road. Each time he attacked a tank...and I think these were The SDF (Syrian Democratic Force) which is, more or less, on our side...you could hear the creeps in the building cheering him on "Allah Akbar!"
Well, after a column of SDF tanks had passed, all safely, an ISIS tank came along the same road and then stopped and was shooting, I guess at those same SDF tanks at a distance. That moron hiding in the brush dashes out again and YOU GUESSED IT! Bam! destroys the ISIS tank with a grenade. Obviously, he thought it was an SDF tank.
There is all kind of commotion, yelling and screaming, and finally you can see an ISIS creep, a leader of some kind, run out to the moron on the road shouting and he slaps the guy up side the head!!
I love watching this kind of stuff!

KKK is stupid. Well, she's stupid and her supporters are stark, raving loonies!! Who could vote for that idiot? I guess, another idiot.
She reiterated the lunacy that the terrorists are recruiting because of Trump's comments. Think on that one for a moment. After that moment, you realize just how stupid that notion is. Who would believe such crap!?
I suppose that's why we've had mooslim terrorists for about 50+ years. Even those guys, 50 years ago, were saying, I'm joining the terrorists because in 2016 Donald Trump will say things like: he wants to kick our ass!
Right. I'd bet a dollar to a doughnut that 90+% of ISIS' rank and file doesn't even know who Trump is, and the other 10% know, but don't care!!

Best of the Live Leak videos making the rounds on Facebook...
a group of terrorists are doing two things simultaneously:
1. planting an IED on a road side
2. preparing a suicide bomber with a car packed full of explosives
All of this activity is going on under the watchful eye of special forces who are videoing it all.
Car-bomb is complete, their "hero" says his goodbyes, hugs his fellow terrorists, and gets into car, driving up the road...right past the spot other sleazebags are planting their bomb...they stop to cheer on their car-bomb hero as he drives by.....whoops! something happens....maybe the vibration of the heavily-laden car shakes the ground...who knows? But kaboom! an incredible explosion! Unbelievable! the car skyrockets 100 feet into the air, it hangs for a second as if suspended on an invisible rope, and then.....another kaboom! the car-bomb explodes too! Wow! what a fireworks show!
A mushroom shaped cloud hangs over the desert, the sound still echoing off the distant hills...the shockwave is so powerful, that even a mile away, the special forces dudes, with their video camera, are knocked down, they are momentarily stunned. But, they get up, dust themselves off and point the camera back toward the scene...and then you can hear it....chuckling. Yes, chuckling! Ya gotta love it!

Re: Terrorism Around the World
ISIS getting desperate in Mosul. Reports are that ISIS has stooped to sending kids driving regular vehicles, civilian cars/trucks, in a vain attempt to ram Iraqi army vehicles and/or run over Iraqi troops. Of course, these vehicles get nowhere near their intended targets as they are blasted to bits by heavy weapons' fire. Apparently these "kids" are not unwilling civilians, but rather younger ISIS idiots, volunteers, probably. Speculation is they are sacrificing the younger ISIS "soldiers" mere teenagers, as they are least experienced and therefore, the most expendable.
Also, Iraqi forces operating in Mosul, in the street to street fighting, report that even ISIS' IEDs have become very amateurish. This is an indication that ISIS is running out of supplies, weapons, ammo as the city of Mosul has been completely surrounded and cut off and the 4,000 or so remaining ISIS troops have not been resupplied for several months now.
Mosul has become ISIS' Stalingrad. Iranian-backed Shiite Militia is guarding the western side of the city with orders to destroy any ISIS troops attempting to flee. Likewise, the Kurds are dug in north and east of the city with the same orders. Meanwhile, Iraqi army units have pushed into Mosul from both the east and the south and are squeezing the remaining ISIS defenders into an ever-decreasing circle.
Kill 'em all, I say. Execute without mercy any ISIS sleazebags that do surrender. No prisoners!

I hate to see children killed, but if they were willing participants, so be it. At least any surviving ISIS fighters will have fewer impressionable minds to recruit and perpetuate the cycle.

Re: Terrorism Around the World
ISIS has retaken Palmyria, Syria. It was a convenient target of opportunity since the thin Syrian forces have concentrated on Aleppo. They and their Russian allies with limited resources and capability. The Syrian-Russian Alliance has only been able to defeat ISIS when they made an all-out, concentrated effort. ISIS forces are highly mobile and flexible. They are a nomadic army, really, since they cannot defend fixed positions, strongholds, assets as allied air power wreaks havoc whenever ISIS pauses and concentrates its forces.
ISIS units in Mosul would have been completely annihilated already if not for concern for civilians who ISIS hides behind as human shields. Iraqi troops are having to fight street to street, house to house, in order to avoid mass civilian casualties. That takes time.
Actually, I think a better tactic would be to withdraw the Shiite Militia on the west, "allowing" ISIS units to "escape" Mosul. Once in the open desert, allied planes would decimate the retreating ISIS units. Kind of like Kuwait City, 1991, all over again, "the highway of death." BUT! I suspect ISIS leaders are not that stupid and probably won't take the bait, not without bringing along their "human shields."
What a mess Syria and Iraq have become. It's a "free-for-all." Kind of like Risk, where it was everyone vs. everyone.

Re: Terrorism Around the World
Two female moooslim terrorists strapped bombs to themselves and entered a crowded village market in a town in Nigeria. They were members of the mostly defunct Boko Haram group. One of the women blew herself up and harmed no one else, and the other was detected trying to arm her bomb vest and was attacked by the villagers. They beat her to a pulp, then got a rope and lynched her. The local police finally arrived, and a bomb team had to deactivate the vest. They left the two dead mooslim scumbags lying in the road and chickens and other critters started feeding on them. A local contractor finally used his front-end loader/back-hoe to dig a hole and deposit the bodies in it.
In a related story, the leader of Boko Haram Abubakar Shekau appeared in a video to dispute that his organization has been wiped out by the new coalition forces of Niger, Nigeria, and Chad which have joined forces to fight the mooslim terrorists. Shekau is seen in a tent, in tight quarters, obviously hiding from the coalition forces. During part of the video you can hear helicopters, which are searching for the remnants of the defeated Boko Haram.
Last week, the coalition forces launched a surprise attack on the stronghold of Boko Haram completely annihilating the terrorists, killing/capturing 375. Of course, some of the scumbags escaped into the jungle, including their gallant leader who now cowers in a tent making silly videos.
Moooslim terrorists are not so bold when their intended victims are armed and fight back...

Re: Terrorism Around the World
The Russians, in a vain attempt to defend their buddy Assad, claim an errant bomb struck a warehouse containing chemical weapons and causing this recent event. The Ruskies, now backed by the Assad government, say the cache of chemical weapons belonged to a terrorist group. They were old, unstable chemical weapons, and released the deadly nerve gas when the warehouse suffered a hit from a bomb intended for anti-Assad "terrorists." The bomb was dropped by a Syrian plane. But the strike of the warehouse was an accident.
Where did these chemical weapons come from? Well, so far, no one has said. But I think they came from Iraq, part of the supply of such weapons, WMDs, that Saddam Hussein sent into Syria to avoid being found by US troops.
Is any of this true? Dunno. This is just a statement released by the Ruskies. They will manufacture any lie to protect Assad. But, it is possible. This explanation is plausible and possible, as we KNOW Saddam did send many of his WMDs into Syria, and those weapons would most certainly be unstable.

Way To Go TRUMP!!! That was obviously a great trip.
UPDATE: Saudi, Egypt lead Arab states cutting Qatar ties, Iran blames Trump...
By Noah Browning | DUBAI
The Arab world's strongest powers cut ties with Qatar on Monday over alleged support for Islamists and Iran, re-opening a festering wound two weeks after U.S. President Donald Trump's demand for Muslim states to fight terrorism.
Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain cut relations with Qatar in a coordinated move. Yemen, Libya's eastern-based government and the Maldives joined in later.
Qatar denounced the move as based on lies about it supporting militants. It has often been accused of being a funding source for Islamists, as has Saudi Arabia.
Iran, long at odds with Saudi Arabia and a behind-the-scenes target of the move, blamed Trump's visit last month to Riyadh.
"What is happening is the preliminary result of the sword dance," Hamid Aboutalebi, deputy chief of staff of Iran's President Hassan Rouhani, tweeted in reference to Trump's joining in a traditional dance with the Saudi king at the meeting.

Re: Terrorism Around the World
U.S. special forces are assisting the Philippines armed forces to end the ongoing siege of a town by ISIS-linked militants, Reuters reported Saturday, citing a U.S. embassy spokesperson in Manila.
The spokesperson did not provide details about the level of involvement and there is reportedly no evidence the U.S. has troops on the ground there. The report said a U.S. surveillance plane was seen flying over the town, Marawi, on Friday.
"At the request of the government of the Philippines, U.S. special operations forces are assisting the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) with ongoing operations in Marawi,” the spokesperson said, according to the report.
As it stands, the fighting has been unprecedented; while militants have launched major attacks before, never before has any group occupied territory in the heartland of the Philippines’ Islamic faith for this long. Two weeks after the conflict began, at least 178 people have been killed and the army is still battling to regain control with airstrikes and artillery.

What a freaking nut job!! Lock him up!!The man suspected of mowing down a crowd exiting Ramadan prayers at a London mosque early Monday has been identified as 47-year-old Darren Osborne of Cardiff, Wales, sources told Sky News.At least one person was killed and 10 others were injured in the assault, which authorities were treating as a terrorist attack.
Osborne, reportedly a father of four, was arrested on suspicion of terror offenses in the collision with pedestrians outside the Muslim Welfare House, Metropolitan Police said. People at the scene shouted at him: "Why did you do that? Why?"
"This man was not known to authorities in the space of extremism or far-right extremism," Ben Wallace, Britain's minister for security, told Sky News.
The incident occurred outside the Finsbury Park Mosque shortly after midnight after Ramadan prayers. Police said all of the injured were members of the Muslim community. Muslim leaders decried the collision as a hate crime and asked the public to stay calm.
Police said eight of the injured were taken to three hospitals and two suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing at least one person receiving chest compressions. Police said that person was the lone death in the incident, but it was unclear if it was the van that caused the death.
Prime Minister Theresa May described the attack as a "sickening" attempt to destroy liberties that unite Britain, such as freedom of worship. She added that the man acted alone. May said earlier she would chair an emergency security Cabinet session later Monday and that her thoughts were with the injured, their loved ones and emergency officials who responded to the incident.

The CIA warned Spain two months ago. Officials there chose not to take the warnings seriously.
