Centenary Hardware
Probably won't mean much unless you've lived in Shreveport-Bossier a long time, but Centenary Hardware will close Saturday after 65 years. One of the last of the "true" hardware stores. You could spend hours going through the two floors of gadgets, plumbing, wiring, household supplies, and iconic toys like the "Red Flyer" wagons. At least partially, another victim of the big box stores.

Re: Centenary Hardware
That is very sad. Even recently they are one of the best places to get keys. I remember Santa got me a bike from there once. I too have spent hours in there, even found out the hard way once as a kid that someone had set a rat trap and placed it back in the bin.

I don't know how much they are a victim of the big box stores, as Home Deopt and Lowes have had multiple locations in SBC for over a decade.
