Only 5 home games, and one of those is against Prairie View A&M? Can it get any worse?

There has to be something worse, but if I think that hard at this time of night, I get a headache.
Re: LA Tech Begins Football Season Ticket Sales, Renewals - latechsports.com
After whittling down my season tickets over a few year from 16 to 8, I guess I'll be renewing 8. But Prairie View?!?!?!
Good grief! Where's that Picard facepalm meme?
Re: LA Tech Begins Football Season Ticket Sales, Renewals - latechsports.com
I hate these 5 home 7 away schedules.
Re: LA Tech Begins Football Season Ticket Sales, Renewals - latechsports.com
I hate increasing the price because there's a 6th home game and then the next year when there's only 5, keeping the pricing for 6 games.
Re: LA Tech Begins Football Season Ticket Sales, Renewals - latechsports.com
5 games, 6 games, or 7, our pricing is among the greatest incentives to not attend.
Re: LA Tech Begins Football Season Ticket Sales, Renewals - latechsports.com
How can attendance continue to go down? We've won 6 bowl games in a row! What could be causing a decline in attendance? Is there a common denominator for the past 7 years?
Re: LA Tech Begins Football Season Ticket Sales, Renewals - latechsports.com
Didn't we bump up ticket prices the year we had Miss State at home in 2017 where we had 7 home games? Did TMac kept the prices the same going into 2018 (6 home), 2019 (5 home).
I know some folks will say attendance is down in college football, but I think most of the problems stems from our athletic admins.

This is the year to make student attendance mandatory. Go to the football games or you get an F. Make it mandatory for grad students too. That's around 12,000 students in total, so if they all go to the games that should give us attendance around 17000-18000 per game. :icon_roll: :icon_roll: :icon_roll:
Seriously I wonder how many would transfer if we tried such a desperate, cornball plan? I bet at least 25% with that schedule.

I know the home schedule sucks, but this schedule is AWESOME for traveling. I could easily make 10/11 games (if I didn't want to stay married).

Wait, when was the last time YOU actually bought season tickets?!?!?:D
But I understand. And I will really have to think about my investment in La Tech Sports going forward.

We need a QB...
That's it! Tech football is all about having a poweful offense led by a potent passing attack. That is what Tech fans expect and what they (we) want to see. Now, for me, I also love a great defense. I enjoyed the Indy Bowl watching our D dominate like that. Our D won the Frisco and Hawaii bowls as well. But, I also like to watch a potent passing attack. And that is TECH FOOTBALL!
Get us a good QB and the fans will return.

I think Skip Holtz agrees with you. In addition to highly prized freshman QB signee JD Head, Holtz also has ACU transfer Luke Anthony (who has already thrown for over 6,000 yards at the college level), 2-time Tech starter Aaron Allen, and turnover machine Westin Elliott competing for the QB job this spring.
I think the plan is to let Anthony and Allen fight it out this year for 2020. Then, for 2021, Holtz will bring in Gray shirt freshman 2021 signee Caleb Holstein (6-5, 220, the kid who flipped from Harvard), have Allen back as a redshirt Junior, and JD Head, who will likely be a redshirt freshman by then, to fight it out for the starting job.
Quote:
"The starter will be determined on the field. I don’t know who that’ll be. Senior Westin Elliott, he’s talented but has turned the ball over. Senior Luke Anthony coming in, proven that he can play on college level and has had success. Aaron Allen has starts under his belt and is one of our more talented young players. That was one of the reasons of taking the right transfer. When Luke Anthony became available, we felt it was an opportunity to put three quarterbacks to compete for the job. That job will be wide open.” -- Skip Holtz
