On a sidenote, USM should not be allowed to blink the lights and blast loud music when they hit a HR or do something good. They just happen to be the host school, but this is the CUSA conference tourney, not a USM regular season home series. Conference, neutral officials should be in charge of ALL ASPECTS of the tourney, including the press box, special effects, scoreboard, etc...
As for the play on the field, I am rooting FOR Tech and not AGAINST any other school. I also want what is best for Tech, and by extension, CUSA. So, if that means a Tech vs. USM championship game gives us our best shot at an at-large bid...provided we don't beat the Mustard Buzzards for the autobid...then I am all for it.

The fact that we are even playing the tournament in Hattiesburg speaks to the lack of spine our CUSA leaders and remaining presidents have. I don't expect them to make these turds at USM follow the protocol we followed last year.

Same here. Tech/USM has been my favorite rivalry in all sports since we joined C-USA. At the end of the day, I'm a Tech alumnus and fan. We will move on.

Re: LA Tech Opens Conference Tournament Play with Charlotte
So at least one USM fan says, "It's Tech's Fault." A ULM fan asked about the light show at USM last night, and here was their response:
In the past when we hosted it was always as a "neutral site" configuration, as it was at Rice and other on campus locations in the past. Last year in Ruston, LaTech treated it as a home tournament. They played their players' walkup music, did all the "make some noise" crowd-inducing stuff and had their normal regular season HR celebrations. It was the first time that happened in the CUSA tournament held on a campus. CUSA was asked to intervene after LaTech's first game and they said "there's nothing we can do". Our AD took note and this is basically a big old "up yours" to CUSA that we are doing it in our park because they let LaTech run it like a travel ball tournament last year.

I thought the same thing about the loud music and flashing lights when USM did something good. I guess they are testing the conference to see if they say stop.

Is this true? I guess I wasn't paying close attention last year and don't remember.

It is written in the by-laws that they can move the tournament if a team is leaving? If not, it would be a huge lawsuit waiting to happen if the conference tried to do it.
Re: LA Tech Opens Conference Tournament Play with Charlotte
I saw where the Sunbelt Tournament is going to single elimination. Anyone heard of that for CUSA?

No - getting those three games in yesterday allowed things to remain double elimination
Re: LA Tech Opens Conference Tournament Play with Charlotte
Though so but I wouldn't be surprised.

I don't either (and frankly couldn't care less either way).

Did I hear right that USM was pretty much gifted the winning run with a called balk scoring a runner from 3rd and with the UAB coach ejected for arguing the call? Y’all watch, SM is going to get more special help getting through this tournament.
