Click on the Community and you'll see all the deals from the past. Some really good things and some pretty crappy... but ALWAYS cheap.
The computer experts will love this. The computer that I'm on right now came from WOOT. I paid $600 for this....

Today's woot isn't all that great. Just a pair of headphones.
Pretty cool ear buds though. This is definitely a site worth checking out.
Beware of the "WOOT-off". Sometimes, they will just have a day were they may have 50 deals that day. They will have one product at midnight and they have a limit on the amount sold. Once they hit that limit, they list another one and so on. The limit might be 3, so if you see a woot-off (orange flashing lights, you can't miss it) and you're interested in the product, then you better act fast.
See May 9th for an example.

I lost my virginity today. It was just too irresistible and I couldn't hold back any longer. I Wooted this morning.
So what item made you pop your woot cherry?
I went there to see that the other day, it was a receipt scanner and the software to catalog your receipts.
TomTom for $110 is not bad
What are you backing it up with?
I'm am the backeniiest upenieist person you know. The server has two hard drives running simultaneously. It is then backed up on a separate computer that makes a new copy each night that is saved for six months in case there is an accidental delete. That is all in house. Then, each night, the server and my PC are backed up on an off sight computer. Finally, I also manually back up my office files once a week on a portable hard drive. I rotate the hard drives every three weeks.
The thought of losing those files scares the crap out of me. The cost of backing up is well worth the peace of mind.
Alright you computer guys. I need two monitors for my home PC. There is a 20 inch on Woot today for $100. What do you think?
Sorry... I had missed it. You know, there was kinda this even in Ruston yesterday which caused me to not be here to see your post. :icon_wink:
But for future reference, what all do you do on your computer??
Well if you're not into graphic design, gaming, or movies, then most monitors will be fine.
It cracks me up when grandmothers will go to an electronic store just wanting a computer that will help them check e-mail and show pictures of their grandkids and the computer nerds take them to a high end $1500 computers. Heck no, those are the people that should have those celery processor computers.
Sooner ...22" for $128. If you have a Dell card it's 3% less than that.

I do very, very little other than office work on my computers. This bulletin board is the next most frequent thing. If you are asking whether or not I tax the video card, the answer is a resounding "no." I just like a big screen to see my work without reading glasses.

Our grandpa had an excellent parking system that he used for decades. It was a tennis ball he hung from the rafters in his garage at just the right spot so that when it bumped his windshield, he was all the way pulled in. It worked great. Just think about that. Lasers. Lasers. Doing a job that a tennis ball is qualified for.
We weep, man, we really do.
We have one too in our garage its called "STOP BEFORE YOU HIT THE WALL"
Also known as Brakes

WOOT SUCKS
I have purchased 2 notebook computers and a flat screen TV......well after 4 months, the Philips TV is dead and they said...sorry.
It is great for getting cheaper items......but buyer beware, they may not last long
I like buying stuff on-line (typically good prices). Big TV's are one thing I'm wary of buying on-line though. If it fails during the return period, it costs a mint to return.
Woots 90 day return policy is not bad. Sears and Best Buy are 30 days, so it's not too surprising that after 90 days Woot would send you to the manufacturer.
The big issue is Philips. Their quality ain't that great and their customer service ain't so hot either:
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/home_...s/philips.html
Hopefully you're still under warranty and can get them to address the problem. Good luck.
Their HQ is in the Netherlands. If they don't take care of you, you ought to start a jihad on them, lots of Moslem brothers over their that would take up the cause. :)Quote:

and then there's this:

The company was founded in 1891 by Gerard Philips, a maternal cousin of Karl Marx, in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

“Come on over and enjoy some wild-caught salmon!” you’ll say. “It’s plank-grilled for moistness and infused with a delicious, smokey cedar flavor! Plus it’s seasoned with an all-natural blend of Mediterranean spices! Because these things are important to me as a Woot shopper!”
But all they’ll hear is “I’M GRILLING ON CEDAR. I AM SO MUCH BETTER THAN YOU.”
They’ll decline the invitation, claiming they’ve already got casserole in the oven. Ha! CASSEROLE. How perfectly provincial! Their loss.
By the way, I nailed the Bag of Crap on the last day of the woot-off.
Blind luck. I will update with pictures when it comes in.
They've got a cool thing going on today. Take the time to read the description and play the game. It's kinda funny.
I got a dyson blueprint for the wife the other day.
Good woot today. A siso tablo tablet pc device for regular laptops
I'm gonna put this thread on "ignore."
It's getting too expensive.:icon_wink:
Woot Off today
I found an interesting site that auto-refreshs the Woot's....
http://www.todaysdod.com/wootoff/?rr...=Yes&title=Yes
.... been on it all day long. The great thing is that if you have a tabbed browser, then you don't actually have to watch the page. Just wait for that tab to jump back to 100% and you know that there's a new offer.
Is it a Woot Off?
Yes it is!
Finally got the Random Crap I've been trying to get for so long now. Can't wait to see what I get.
http://techcrunch.com/2010/06/30/woot-amazon/
Bought by Amazon.
I got a Kansas City Royals Baby Mobile (don't have kids and I'm a cub fan), some Disney cinderella software that goes with some kind of camera, a wine bag, and a couple of other things that I can't remember at the moment. If you see anything you want, let me know. I'm probably going to try to put a couple of the items on ebay to see if I can get some money from them. Probably not much though.
I got a bag of crap in April. It was actually a pretty good pull.
2 National Geographic watches valued at about $180 each, a carrot bandolier t-shirt, a octopus power supply, and a Daiwa golf bag.

Woot off
Amazon owns Woot, so I'm posting this here after reading how many of you love Andy Griffith
ONE-DAY-ONLY SALE: Andy Griffith: The Complete Series.
Wootoff time
I'm no longer a Wooter. Amazon bought them, and the service sucks now. It was fun while it lasted.
I just bought two inflatable matresses for camping the other day, and it arrived quick. I also love Amazon, I was never a Amazon user until about a year ago, and now I'm alWays on there.
I bought a two pack of HDMI cables, 6 foot in length for $5.00.
I too still enjoy woot.
It was on deals.woot.com
I should clarify. I love Amazon. Use it all the time. I used to love Woot. However, since Amazon has bought Woot, the service sucks, in my opinion. It is more trouble than it's worth. I'm not an impusle buyer anyway. I know what I'm waiting for, and when the right deal would come along, I would jump on it. The problem is, they no longer can always fill the order. I guess I'm saying that Amazon doesn't run Woot as well as the founder, even though the founder is still somehow affiliated with Woot.
