Pretty sure that during a preseason interview or press conference, Holtz specifically said his dream was to win a game 2-0. Shouldn't be a surprise that he would admit he was coaching toward a 10-7 outcome this past weekend. Several of us have complained for years that when we build a decent lead, or even a small one, his playcalling and overall coaching completely changes, usually leading to a narrow win or soul-crushing loss.
I remember getting ticked at Bicknell always saying he wanted to "hang around until the 4th quarter and see what happens," but at least Bicknell was referring to our play against superior teams. Holtz appears to coach with the same philosophy; unfortunately, it's usually against teams we should be putting away by halftime.
