Damn. It's just like someone else said, "our guys get hurt a lot"
The thumb injury explains the fumbles. Apparently it was early in the game.
Probably the same thumb he had surgery on in 2015
I must confess, EVEN I thought Henderson would make it longer than this.
This scenario reminds me of a friend (actually my oldest brother's good friend) long ago (1965) who got drafted by the Cowboys back in the big signing bonus days when the AFL and NFL were competing for talent. He had been a wide receiver for NSC. He went to training camp and lasted a week or two. He took his signing bonus and came home saying "those guys hit like they mean business up there". Ended up assistant coach at our high school for that year. These guys need to think seriously about this before going out early. A tough 27-33 year old defensive back is gonna crush a young 22 year old wide receiver in training camp because he is fighting for his job.
You are a GM. You drafted a pretty fast junior WR with good hands. Set some records in college. In training camp, he doesn't really turn that many heads outside of a few plays. But you still have high hopes.
Then in his first game, he fumbles twice.
Then he breaks his thumb. He'll be out a few weeks.
As a coach or GM, I'm in no hurry to get him back on the field. I don't care what he did in college, this is the big leagues. He doesn't have the name recognition to keep his career afloat for a few extra years.
To sum it all up- Henderson was doing outstanding in camp. He had surgery on his thumb. He'll be back without a doubt.
He is not "done". lol
The thumb injury could take a little sting out of the fumbles. Maybe he just hadn't said anything at that point. 'Los is fine. They're not giving up on a 3rd rounder that fast. And if, by some strange set of circunstances, do, he'll latch on somewhere else. Plenty of teams need his skill set. I read reports he's likely back for week 2 or 3 at the latest.
I support CH completely and hope he has great career BUT he was having very mediocre camp. appears he was having altitude issues .. when they "geared up" he began to practice better ... I have been following CH and TT on their team websites --- Trent has had spectacular camp and everyone loves him--CH needs a lot of polish but I believe he will get there... just passing on what I read
