We've come a long way baby -- from frat woods parties, Mr. Moons and the Cheniere Inn.

Besides nightlife for students, it will allow nice restaurants to open in town.
Re: Ruston alcohol ordinance
Nice restaurants are open until 2 in the morning? Or did I miss something? Bars, honky tonks and dives are open until 2 in the morning. It's not that I don't like bars, honky tonks and dives (I've been to a few). I guess "clubs" would be a nicer term.

That hasn't been a Ruston problem in years.
How many students do we lose to Lafayette and Monroe because we shut down bars at 12:00?

It will allow establishments additional operating hours which equals increased revenue
Simple as that.
Re: Ruston alcohol ordinance
I think it brings opportunities of making downtown Ruston more of a college town (ie Dickson St, 6th Street). Also, kids dont start partying till 10pm.

That's if they know they have till 2:00am. They start earlier if they know they shut down at 12:00.
Re: Ruston alcohol ordinance
So now students won't have to leave at halftime anymore to meet their minimum required drinking amount before closing time.
