We kept moving seats to try to stay in the sunshine.

Re: Overall atmosphere at La Tech and at the Joe
Remember those years well, I bought at least one WAC PAC every year they were available and brought as many as 9 kids at a time to the games, None of us cared, we had a great time.
The last year of JBIII I did not buy season tickets and only made two games, My signature on BB&B at the time was "Pack Jack and I'll be back".
It was really bad at times, but for some reason we all had hope, I think that is what we are lacking now is hope.

I'm not lacking hope. I just thought this season would be better.
I look at the roster and see players like Amik Robertson TRUE Freshman and it gives me hope! I hope we finish the season strong and get the extra practices.

Were there any promotions for veterans last Saturday?
My father showed them his ID and got two free tickets.

Three plays would be better than two, and that has been the rule in the CFL for over a decade.
A real injury can't be evaluated within one or even two plays, and fake injuries should carry a bigger penalty than sitting just one play. I also wouldn't be against requiring a player to stay out of the game for certain amount of game clock time (2 or 3 minutes).
Something has to be done because it is making a farce of the game and is totally contrary to the spirit of the rules.

Correct. UTEP has only beaten LA Tech one time since 1939. That was in 2004, when Mike Price's UTEP team beat Tech 44-27 in Ruston.

How disappointed I was to be there and to see that High School games have more of a atmosphere than at Tech. We got there early for the tailgating and did walk around a bit around the stadium. There were a few festivities but nothing really to brag about. I chalked it up to a late arriving crowd and couldn't wait for the students to come, fill the student section and make the stadium a really bad place for the opposing team. Again, severely disappointed. We sat on the "alumni" side and it was the quietest crowd I have been around in many years. No excitement..... nothing. The student section was about 1/3 filled and they could have cared less as well. The game ended up being delayed due to weather and once play resumed, many of the student side left and there was noticeably a smaller crowd on the alumni side. To be frank, it was embarrassing! What has happened to Tech? We previously had thought about making the trip from Texas back to Ruston for homecoming, etc. but quickly gave up on that idea. So disappointed in the overall experience! is this a product of the team not being that good this year or has the support just eroded over time to a level that competes with Texas high school ball? Not sure I will make the effort to ever come back again. What has happened?
Are you serious? You are what has happened! More correctly, what hasn’t happened!
Show up more than just every few years!

Great point. It's always the worst offenders that bitch the most. It's a lot like the guys who watch the game on TV or thru Roku, etc...and then complain on BB&B threads about the size of the crowd at the stadium on game day. WTF?
Re: Overall atmosphere at La Tech and at the Joe
I wouldn’t come down too hard on people who don’t make it to many games. If I wasn’t in Ruston, it would be tough to get motivated to be here to watch this crap show. Until they bumped UTSA to 6:30, we had debated on whether that afternoon would be a good hunting day or time to pick out a Christmas tree.
Re: Overall atmosphere at La Tech and at the Joe
I think folks would be surprised at the NUMBER of fans who travel more than 100 miles one way for Tech sports -
I honestly don't think our admin realizes this and doesn't market the Ruston and surrounding areas how they should

Since I've been a season ticket holder for about 20+ years, and I still drive 8 hours round trip each week to attend home games in Ruston, you'll have to pardon me if I don't have a lot sympathy for folks like you. ;)
