You obviously have not thought it through.
These guys (some of them returning) are not on the 35 man roster. It's easy to make the cut down to 35 after the fall world series and before winter quarter. Otherwise he is leading guys on and forcing them to enroll winter quarter which prohibits them from transferring out.

Some of them were told ONE day before the season started and at least one had multiple other options had he been given the courtesy before the Winter Quarter started
