Would certainly help me attend games. Right now I either have to drive 17-20 hours one way, or fly to Dallas, Shreveport, or Monroe, and rent a car for the weekend. Not a very simple commute. A full service airport would allow me to at least not have to transport myself from Monroe or Shreveport.

Monroe and S'Port get very limited flights from Dallas, Memphis, and Atlanta. How many do you think Ruston would get with a "full service" airport? ;)

Pretty low, unless Dawg alums return in mass ;) But in the "me Me ME!!" world the millennials live in, it would certainly help me, at the right price :D

We are forced to play money games for our own revenue. The coach/team needs a few home game tuneups before conference so we are left with very little money or scheduling room for the two home/two away games mentioned each year. We also waste spots/money playing some of the in state teams.
It has NOTHING to do with our location. That's been a well used excuse for many years by our admin, but it is VERY weak.
What is the argument against playing more local teams instead of the SWAC teams or complete no-names? Seems to me that we could get 2-3 "local names" for at least a slight bump in attendance OOC. We will probably have to return a game, which would cost us a home game, but some of our home games were total garbage.
Southern Arkansas - exhibition game, expect a no name
Alabama State - NO INTEREST
Oklahoma Baptist - NO INTEREST
Maryland Eastern Shore - part of the Cal Bears Classic, I get it
Southeastern - Cal Bears Classic
Alcorn - Cal Bears Classic
Prairie View A&M - NO INTEREST
Grambling in Shreveport - will never get moving Grambling/Tech out of Lincoln Parish.
FGCU - I like it
LSUS - tuneup game, okay with it.
Alabama State, Oklahoma Baptist, Prairie View are what ruined it for me. Why wouldn't NWST, ULM, and another belter be better even if it costs us 3 home games over a two year period? Throw in a Grambling home/home instead of Shreveport and you are only losing 1 home game on a yearly basis.
"But we don't make any money off those local teams either." Probably right but it was real hard for me to buy seasons tickets with the garbage we had on the schedule.
Also, didn't Rupp teams used to play home/home series with a few of these teams during the same season? Get us something, anything interesting before conference play.

Dates are November 21-22 (Tuesday-Wednesday), so it is a 2-game event.

I saw the dates, but the chick at the game said 4 teams to be added
Re: 2018 Dunkin' Dawgs Schedule
It is usually an 8 team field. This year Purdue and Auburn were in championship game. Texas Tech and Utah State were also part of the field. The tournament also has a third place game.

More like 2 four-team tourneys with an "eight-team field" ?? 4 "visiting" teams in the Mayan Division play for a Mayan Championship and 4 "host" teams in the Riviera Division play for the Riviera Championship ?? Winner of the Riviera bracket is named the Tournament Champion ?? Riviera Division games televised by CBS Sports, and Mayan Division games on You Tube ??

Plus the greater division hosts 2 games vs. the lesser division. All of these MTE's involve 4 games over 2 weeks.

It appears we are in the greater division, but our division (greater/lesser) could go either way. Early next season we will most likely get to host 2 Southland/SWACesque teams that are part of the TBA lesser division. Or it's also possible early next season we have to play 2 road games at Cartel Conference schools from a possible TBA greater division. But my money is on us being in the greater division, getting our Cancun games on CBSSN, and getting to host 2 "low-majors" in Ruston. If we are in the lesser division, this will be one heck of a tourney (looking at 4 of you: Kentucky, Kansas, Syracuse, Illinois, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Memphis, Minnesota, BYU, Utah, Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State).
Re: 2018 Dunkin' Dawgs Schedule
Sure hope you are right and we will be in the "greater" (host) division rather than the "lesser" (visiting) division. Wonder when they might announce the other division's teams ??
