How tough could it be to get this stuff correct?
If you look at your season ticket booklet, it shows the REDOUT game being 11-10 against Rice. If you look at the Tailgating postcard sent out pre-season by the Alumni Association, it shows this Saturday 10-6 vs UAB as the REDOUT game. So what color are you wearing Saturday? We are probably going to see a hodgepodge of colors!!!!
Re: How tough could it be to get this stuff correct?
We will probably see a hodgepodge anyway. Lack of coherent branding has essentially eliminated blue as the dominant color.
Additionally, nearly every free shirt I got was for the Red Out. I only ever wore them to that game, but I knew plenty who wore them all season. We put up all kinds of obstacles to our own branding.

The gay voice Learfield uses to advertise our games is one that has great appeal to our demographic. :o FWIW, Learfield uses the same voice for nlulm. That should be unacceptable, but I'm sure our AD has no clue or doesn't care. He is totally out of touch.

So how do you make positive change? The never ending bitching on here has changed some things...slowly. There has to be a better way. There are some great minds on this board....let’s figure it out and move the Dawgs forward!

I have heard that voice on several other Learfield team broadcasts. Wanting a different voice means switching to IMG.
Re: How tough could it be to get this stuff correct?
The Red Out game is Rice.
Re: How tough could it be to get this stuff correct?
It shouldn't be too hard to get this stuff correct..... LA Tech has the funds to afford recent college grads with zero experience....the norm if you will. LA Tech has numerous grads with years of hard earned experience and an education....Can we blend the two? HD,PD,D65,05, Stodg, Dawg 80, even some of the liberal posters have a point of view....they all have some merit...let's create a community to improve all things related to LA Tech. We might not all agree... but we all have a love for the university. Let's make a difference.

I was told they have several voice people, but probably just several more mid-western voices with a lisp.

Nothing else can be done with our current AD. He can't be advised or led.

Maybe it's time for reverse psychology.... "I advise him NOT to play in the middle of I-20"
Re: How tough could it be to get this stuff correct?
This "professional" get's paid $248,000 to run this athletic program. We have five home games! Five to market, organize, sell tickets, fill the stadium, etc. I'm not sure what he's been doing all summer long.

If true, Guice needs to cut him loose....or Guice really doesn’t get it either.... Reneau 2.0?

I understand, but unlike Dr.Guice, D.R. was a micro manager. He intentionally held back progress with things like hiring Stovall, letting Eagles get away for chump change, hiring Jerry Loyd, refusing to fire Bicknell, not recognizing the need for a change with Jim Oakes who was loyal to a fault, and many others involving a sport only 25% of our fans really cared about.
I am confident in Dr. Guice and his decision making. I'm also confident that the reason our AD is trying so hard to get our of town is that he knows he is in over his head. He will take an assistant AD position in the SEC in a heart beat.
Re: How tough could it be to get this stuff correct?
Reneau purposely held back progress!? Yeah, right. He woke up every morning asking himself how he could wreck Tech athletics that day. Total BS!
I find it comical that you give Guice a pass for hiring, and KEEPING, a boob like TMAC but criticize DR for hiring decisions. You are "confident in Dr. Guice and his decision making." That is too funny! LOL! If that is true you have to worship at the altar of TMAC, because he IS the very essence of Guice's "decision making."
You have zero credibility on this issue.
