Election of Speaker of the House
The Speaker doesn't even have to be a member of the House...that's kind of crazy.
But, let's say the Dems split with 100+ voting for Pelosi and 100+ for someone else, but the Repubs block vote their 200 or so votes for one person, does that person win? Is it a simple plurality?
Re: Election of Speaker of the House
Looked it up...need 218 votes, unless a House member just votes present, which lowers that needed number to 217, 216, etc...for any such votes.
I doubt some of the anti-Pelosi Dems can be convinced to vote for the Repub, eh? Nah, that'll never happen.
Re: Election of Speaker of the House
Hey Buddy, the answer as I see it is that the Democraps select their person in conference and then that person is voted on by the full House.

Pelosi is such a child like most naive idealistic socialist Democrats. I've even seen my 6-year-old granddaughter do this one.
