W. Basketball. @LATechWBB Earns No. 3 Seed in C-USA Tournament
A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:
After winning its final three games of the regular season, including back-to-back road wins at league champion UAB and Rice, Louisiana Tech turned to scoreboard watching Saturday as the final day of the Conference USA regular season had significant impact on seeding for the upcoming league tournament in Frisco.

Re: W. Basketball. @LATechWBB Earns No. 3 Seed in C-USA Tournament
So, we will most likely play Charlotte Thursday night........ Going to be playing a tough Quarterfinal to start, but we will have some great motivation for that one. I hope WKU gets knocked off before the Semi's! I don't think anyone would say that we are not the hottest team headed into the conference tournament!
Re: W. Basketball. @LATechWBB Earns No. 3 Seed in C-USA Tournament
IF North Texas was able to pull off the upset against Charlotte, the North Texas/Tech game would be the most well attended of any game in the tournament. I think those two teams will have the most there.

Was surprised that WKU blew a TOP spot in the tourney!
Techsters on a nice ROLL!

I will be cheering for North Texas on Wednesday. I would say it is an impossible task for them to beat Charlotte, but you never know. This has been a strange week with some lower seed teams beating and almost beating top teams in the conference.
If it is Charlotte on Thursday, we have a revenge game to play!
This is the time of year that it comes down to strength/conditioning and playing with a fire inside us!!!!!!!!!

This is THE KEY, obviously. That fire. Watched the first half of UConn v Cincinnatti. 43 -5 UConn. Unbelievable defensive effort. Cincinnatti cant get a shot off. Sometimes the can throw the ball in the direction of the goal. Sometimes not. We must have that effort. Second quarter was 26-0. This is not about UConn but defensive effort and determination.

It IS all about UCONN. It's Geno's team and about 300 midgets. UCONN crushed South Carolina a couple of weeks ago, like by 30 pts.
Re: W. Basketball. @LATechWBB Earns No. 3 Seed in C-USA Tournament
It used to be all about us, then Tennessee, and then UConn.......... UConn is totally dominant. When Geno retires, it will be a different story and someone else's turn. They are not in a P5 conference anymore and will struggle if and when he leaves.
Even though they stand at the top (with no doubt), I do believe there is more parity now - it just expanded from about 4 teams to 10 that have a shot at the top. There is about 20 under those 10 that are hard to touch, but not dominant like UConn is.....

There is no program I would rather see lose in WBB.

Women's basketball is about 50 years behind men's basketball in maturity. Remember back in the 1960's and early '70's when John Wooden's UCLA program won 10 national championships in 12 years? Well, teams don't do that anymore like they did 50 years ago. Except of course, in women's basketball, with a program named UCONN.
Fact is, men's basketball has matured to a point that we will likely never again see a program dominate the mens game the way UCLA did back then. And in women's basketball, you are correct; when Geno retires it will be good for the women's game, and UCONN will slip accordingly....just like we did when Leon Barmore retired, and just like Tennessee did when Pat Summit retired.

It's the natural order of things. Tech, Tennessee, and UConn caught lightning in a bottle. But it doesn't last forever.

I totally agree...
