All I can say is Holtz better win all 3 games handily (hahahahahahaha)
Geeez.....please go to business school, BD.
It's not a "2 for 1" when LA Tech is getting PAID $1.1M for the 1st game. Rather, it's a pay day game, plus a 1/1. You and PD can bitch about the $1.1M pay day if you want, and you might actually have a case. BUT, $1.1m is probably the going rate for a mediocre P5. Mediocre P5's don't pay what Nebraska, Texas or Ohio State pays.
Re: 2018 and Future Schedules
It's the not worst deal a Tech AD has ever made. So, it has that going for it.
If NC State actually comes to Ruston, it'll turn out okay. We'll see.

Wrong as usual. They paid us more than 1.1 in 2013.

But that 2013 game didn't include a separate 2-game series that included NC St coming to Ruston, genius.

So, can we say that to get a home-and-home with North Carolina State, we agreed to take $200,000 to $300,000 less for the payday game?

Really? You think this was a good deal? He accepted less money in 2018 than BVDV accepted six years ago. And you think that is okay because we MIGHT get a game in Ruston in return for ANOTHER road game that we receive NOTHING for, genius.
Our AD can't sell out our 26K seat stadium for an SEC game, so there is no real upside to having NC St in Ruston.
He left at least $2M on the table by making this 2 for 1 deal with a school nobody gives a crap about.
Have you considered that he may now be courting ACC schools for a job since none of the SEC guys gave him a glance? The Baylor deal was even worse, so maybe is is courting Big12 schools too.

So, in other words, "Yes, you are right again, HD. That 2013 game did NOT include a separate 2-game series that included NC St coming to Ruston"- PD.
Next time, a simple "Yes" to my question will suffice. :icon_roll:

The payday game and the 1/1 are considered separate deals in the first post. But they are considered as a single deal in the second post.
For those of you following at home, this is what's sometimes called "moving the cheese" -- a given fact is assigned different (sometimes mutually exclusive) interpretations from one moment to the next. (It's the reverse of "equivocation", wherein a given word or term with more than one common meaning is conflated as a single possible meaning.)
Re: 2018 and Future Schedules
You can make two deals, and have one leverage off of the other. I dont think they do the home-home if we do a full price payday game.

That's a good point. How did you make it without any emojis?

We are the only school that makes bad deals like this. See the Baylor deal. Our AD is a dumb ass.
