U may b right. As an outsider, I hope the bold prevails. I think I am pulling for them, probably because I have wanted someone with some Nads to make a similar declaration about my Alma Mater for a very long time. Unfortunately, not sure there is a single Nad in Power in Ruston... much less a pair.
Re: UT-Arlington Basketball
I prefer to "just do it" rather then making declarations you "want" to do it. Quietly go about your business building something worthwhile. Then the world will make all the declarations about you.

BTW, I'd put odds on that Scott Cross was actively shopping his success to date at UTA and looking to hop to a bigger job is why he got fired/replaced ?? Pre-emptive strike, so to say ??
Everybody has a basketball program. What makes UTA's so different from everybody else's when comparing it to Gonzaga's??

Its possible....not likely. He was as UTA as they come. Been there as a player/coach since '93. Had several opportunities to leave after 1st tourney run...but chose to stay and build.
Truth is...UTA did him a favor because he probably wouldve never left. Now he gets to work down the road at TCU under a vet coach and get paid by UTA at the same time. He will have good options next season...or if he didnt want to uproot his family, could be an AC under Dixon for next 5-10 years (i dont know how old Dixon is) before taking over as HC at TCU.

I agree - I'm more interested in the example this sets rather than their specific success. Go big or go home.

True dat!
Re: UT-Arlington Basketball
Update.
UTA is 17-15.
... but they finished second in the conference at 12-6, won their semi-final today and are playing for a dance ticket at 1:00 tomorrow.
Re: UT-Arlington Basketball
I suspect that the leadership is not too disappointed. Ogden finished as runner-up in his first year. They were starting 3 Freshmen down the stretch. GA. State had a Senior dominated team.
No moral victories, but I suspect UTA grades out well in Year 1 of the new regime.
