Met WR Alfred Smith Today
I'm in Ruston with my youngest son, who is in freshmen orientation for the next couple of days at Tech. We had a little free time today so we drove by Aillet Stadium and the gate was open, so we snuck onto the field.
Alfred Smith was the only person on the field and he was intensely working on his footwork, technique,... We talked with him for a little while. Alfred (Tarzan) has two more years of eligibility and he has had an ACL injury his entire time at Tech, which I certainly didn't know. That is behind him now and he is absolutely ripped physically.
I was impressed with how well spoken, polite, appreciative, and incredibly focused this young man is about football and life in general. Alfred and Teddy Veal will be playing slot receiver this year, while Bonnette and Hardy will be the top wideouts. Don't be surprised if Smith turns in a very impressive season for our offense. He unquestionably looks ready to roll at 100%!
Re: Met WR Alfred Smith Today
Hoping he has a great, healthy season. Lord knows he deserves it cause he is sold out!

Good stuff. Thanks for posting. I have a feeling LA Tech is going to have a very good season in 2018. After last season, we're certainly due.
Re: Met WR Alfred Smith Today
Yes, thanks DW. If Alfred surfaces this year and is a difference-maker, we will be trending up.
Also, a big congratulations that your son is heading to Tech. I hope his experience is outstanding.
Re: Met WR Alfred Smith Today
Tarzan was significantly missed last year in the running game. It's amazing how much impact a blocking receiver can have on an offense. I can't wait to see him back out there. Plus, that whole receiving corps sounds pretty solid.
Can we just have a vote to skip July and get straight to fall camp?

Thanks David. The kid is taking to Louisiana Tech about the same way yours did- all in 100%! I can't seem to get any time with him during orientation because he's too busy with his new Tech freshman friends. lol
Tech told us today that this will definitely be the school's largest fall freshman class ever and the largest overall enrollment. There are 1,000+ people at this orientation session (550+ students) and I think there are at least 2-3 other sessions.

I personally think we need to shoot for 15,000 students. Build more apts./dorms, a triple decker parking lot and let's go!

There are so many local kids going to TECH now. It is nice to see. I'm hoping to add one more in 2019, but that has not been determined yet.

Re: Met WR Alfred Smith Today
This was Alfred Smith at Destrehan HS https://www.hudl.com/video/3/1614604...e96b6380e96350
Its pretty easy to see why Utah signed him. Out of HS he chose Utah over Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Florida, Nebraska, Clemson, Duke, Arizona State, Louisiana Tech, and Tulane.

I feel like I need to do a benefit raffle for you.
Re: Met WR Alfred Smith Today
TOPS has been quite a blessing for good Louisiana students and their parents.
