I just saw a statement on Twitter that Jerry Arledge will be the head coach at West Monroe next year. Was this expected, or did something big happen?
He had a stroke about a month ago.
Stepping aside as head coach. Remains AD at WMHS.
He hopes to return when his health returns. Tough road ahead, though.

Shows has stepped down as coach for 2013 and is remaining in the AD role, hoping to return to coaching in 2014. In addition to the recent stroke, he's had a series of serious health scares, in addition to being knocked down during a game. He looks very frail; it's hard to imagine him returning to the sideline. Then again, betting against "the Don" is probably an unwise wager.Quote:

That is a great picture of Don Shows T-MO. I was coaching at Tech when he took the Jonesboro-Hodge job and spoke at his football banquet when he was Head Coach at Pineville. I will always remember Coach Shows as a man who gave so much of himself to so many. May God bless his family.
