You ulm haters are the ones that need to get over it. You screwed over a lot of people with this insane hate of ulm. To most Tech people ulm is irrelevant. Most realize the two schools parted ways too long ago to even remember. And the two have been on different tracks since.
You haters make them relevant!
Get out of Bossier for a while. Come to Dallas and catch a Cowboys game or something. You'll get a fresh perspective. This bowl thing is not even a BLIP on the radar screen. The few in Dallas that are even aware think the bowl system is messed-up. Tech, if people are even aware of the school, have a generally favorable impression and that will remain unchanged.

Absolutely true.
Re: Why is Bruce still here?
I like the idea of tapping into the fertile territory of DFW. However, the disparaging of S'port/Bossier is unnecessary and off-putting.
Re: Why is Bruce still here?
I don't care how well defined and strong our coaching candidates pool is. I hope that BVDV is not involved in any more coaching searches or in any schedule negotiations without someone competently overseeing him.

Yeah, no one is even trying to pursue the Dallas market. (eye rolls) That's a wonderful idea!
Tell ya what, Ruston is a place we need to abandon. There's not even enough people in the town to fill the stadium! We need to forget that place and spend every dime we have on Dallas! Heck maybe we should start playing games over there too?
You are delusional! I even heard Fletcher making fun of you on the radio!
And I gotta ask. When is a bowl game worth it? I mean how many of the other bowls should we not waste our time with?

Don't worry, if Tech was to develop a stronghold in DFW, the stupid Shreveport wannabees would fall right in line. Funny, but if we were to become a household name in DFW, it would make us a household name team in Shreveport. They have no vision. They called the Cowboys their team, until the Saints finally started winning - now it is probably still 50/50. Shreveport has no ability to see what they could have and nothing we have done has changed that. Ironically, what LFR is saying, would probably make more inroads in Shreveport than we ever have.

I'm worried about you. You are a fat guy like me. We need to remain calm and not stroke out. Maybe you should get away for a long weekend.

I'll tell you what, just sit there in the shadow of the casinos and stew in it, because you're sure not going to DO anything about it are you?!!

My parents were born in Shreveport, I was born in Shreveport, I graduated from high school there, was married in Shreveport and most of my relatives live there. If I want to disparage Shreveport in regard to its attitude toward LaTech and its anti-progressive approach to business and marketing, I dang sure will and I dang sure will know what I'm talking about.

Heck, I live in north Bossier and this area is every bit as nice as the neighborhoods in DFW. You need to come visit. Anyway, there are alot of fans over here who want what's best for LaTech. Slamming the entire region b/c of a few incompetents in S'port is unnecessary.

I'm not trying to compare Dallas and Shreveport/Bossier. I love the beautiful neighborhoods. Dallas suburbia is mainly flat pastureland. I'm talking about the ATTITUDE in the area. The same attitude that prevents sports franchises from succeeding there is the same attitude that chokes the life out of new initiatives and new ideas.
The old, established money in Shreveport, except Norton, has never been interested in reinvesting in Shreveport. They have always preferred to just sit at the country club; and they see no role for any Louisiana university except LSU. That's what I'm disparaging.

I'm with you on that, brother. However, there is some new energy generating around here! The rallying of support for LaTech moving into S'port was real. Don't give up on us yet....
Re: Why is Bruce still here?
Guys, I think we need to back off and take a deep breath. There are lots of changes coming, and with those changes lots of opportunities to do things better.
Re: Why is Bruce still here?
If this fiasco isn't the final straw, I may never understand Tech.

If you're calling seeking a bowl that would not have us playing a team that tied for third in the Belch in Shreveport the final straw, then you're right, you may never understand Tech.
