NSU does have a pretty campus. Well, parts of it. Like this main gate area.

That humiliating loss has been mentioned by the Shreveport media most weeks for the last 3 years. It's NWST's only accomplishment in football over the last decade.
That game did more damage than most are willing to admit. Dawgpix has pix for every other home game for the rest of that season. Downplay it all you want, but we lost half our fan base for the remainder of the season after that embarrassment. I don't think we got 12K in Aillet Stadium after that.

We had given the game away to ODU the week before.
No way we had 18K at any of the remaining games other than HC.

We didn't even have close to 18K for homecoming. Those numbers are a joke.

It was the WKU game. I remember it being fairly well attended. The stadium was probably not 2/3 full that day, but it was a decent crowd compared to the other games after the NSU choke.
Re: NSU loading buses to Wreck Tech
WKU number seems about right to me.
Re: NSU loading buses to Wreck Tech
Apparently some won't be taking the bus but will be running the 80 miles to present the game ball.
http://news.nsula.edu/home/pikes-wil...ll-to-la-tech/
Northwestern State University’s chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity will present the third annual Game Ball Run to raise for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Members of the fraternity will physically run the game ball 80 miles from Natchitoches to Ruston for the Demons’ faceoff against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on Sept. 2. More then 50 runners from the chapter will take turns running the ball, as well as a few special guests.
The run will begin with a send-off at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 at the south entrance of Turpin Stadium with runners escorted by NSU Police. Once the ball reaches the Louisiana Tech campus, it will be handed over to Athletics officials prior to the 6 p.m. kick-off.
Re: NSU loading buses to Wreck Tech
Will they hand it off to MD who will jump out of the plane amidst pre-game fireworks to enter the stadium? Isn't he a former PikeBoy?

Seems like a weaker version of a Ragnar Relay I ran with a 6-man team for 207 miles. We started in Cumberland Maryland Friday afternoon and Finished Saturday A little before dusk in Washington DC. Anyway, it sounds like a fun promotional event

That loss cost us a 10-win season. Literally. We finished 9-5 that year.

And ODU/Marshall costs us an 11/12-win season. I've heard that it was down to Sokol's shoulder injury for ODU/Marshall, and the defensive losses due to academics on Marshall as well.

I live in Natchitoches too and have been kidded about this game for TWO years. " Hey, what happened to your poor puppy dogs"??? I'm tired of hearing it. We need to give them a good beat down!!
