Griffin Hebert caught two touchdown passes and Isaiah Graham added a third to lead Louisiana Tech to a 41-27 win over UTSA in the regular season finale for the Bulldogs Saturday evening at Joe Aillet Stadium.

So, J'Mar finished the night 25 of 35 for 331 yds, 3 TD's and 0 INT's. That's a superb night by any measure. And this comes from one of his toughest critics....me!

Also, Henderson had 20 rushes for 105 yds, and Tucker 3 rushes for 59. Again, by any measure, the offensive stats looked pretty good against UTSA.
And look at the balance on our receiving yardage:

I really like seeing the emergence of Hebert and Graham as big time playmakers, and Stanley as one of our "go to" guys. This is a talented group.

Dayum HD! you're sounding so upbeat and positive these days. Did you have lunch with Champ110? Maybe he slipped something into your drink when you weren't looking, like an "eternal optimist" pill.
On to the bowl!
Re: @LATechFB Downs UTSA 41-27 - latechsports.com
We gave up 27 to one of the worst teams in the country. Like last week and the week before, when our defense should be adapting to the opponent, our opponents are adapting to our defense. There is a reason this guy was looking for a job...that or Holtz is once again calling the defensive setups along with offense and special teams.

The Tech Defense and Special Teams were our disappointments against UTSA. The defense gave up 408 yds of offense to UTSA, including 280 yds passing. That's just absurd. And our special teams --other than Tech kicker Bailey Hale , of course-- performed very poorly. Amik fumbled a punt return that was recovered by UTSA in the end zone for an easy Roadrunner TD. Our kick coverage is awful. I just don't understand why our Special Teams play is so bad, and has been so consistently bad for so long. It's really inexcusable.
ON a positive note, Jackson had a pick 6 INT for our last TD. It was Tech's 5th Pick 6th of this season, and 11th in the past 3 years, which leads the nation.

Holtz has his finger on everything. He refuses to delegate.
Maybe three weeks will give our defense time to figure a few things out (even though two weeks didn't help), but special teams will continue to be bad, just like it has for the past 7 years. FWIW, we have another punter on the team who (I think) has only played in one game. He just keeps putting this guy back out on the field.

On a side note, why was Amik fielding kicks? I know he's being groomed for the NFL, but I don't get the thinking. Or maybe I've not noticed him doing that.

It was his first time. We were discussing in the stands. Maybe coach promised him a shot a returning punts during recruiting. IDK - I would have pulled him after the muff. He almost muffed another later in the game

I think he was throwing Amik a bone. He had a large contingent of fans from Thibodaux in the stands.

Amik has been asking to do that for three years. I think he had earned that position for a game. Now we can go back to fair catching punts 100% of the time.

I would rather fair catch than fumble into the end zone for a TD. His stock for the NFL surely wasn't helped with that audition.

The NFL is not looking for punt returners. They know Amik has a special gift. I'm anxious to see if we might be lucky enough to keep him for one more year.

Unless Amik sets the ESPN highlights on fire the night after the bowl game, these last three games have taken some shine off of him, IMO. He could have a great year next year, just depends, just not sure he wants to got down that road of no return to the NFL draft this year. Has anyone heard any projections on his draft round if he did declare?
