@BruceFeldman: SOURCE: Big Ten coaches are meeting on a call right now. Am told "it's a real possibility" that the Big Ten may try to reverse course and play later this fall.

Of course Presidents will decide what happens, but it looks like they may try to start as early as Thanksgiving

Agree. I am really surprised at practically zero push-back news out of the Pac12. I know they are all so woke, but still. Only news I know of is the UCLA guy transferring to Baylor. I would have hoped Utah and the Arizona schools would have cried foul.

When small college towns start collapsing from the inside out because of the lack of previously dependable tourism, then we'll see.
Re: 2020 Season - Covid Edition
The best WR in the country is opting out of the season, but maybe not for Covid-19 reasons, but to prepare for the draft. That and maybe he doesn't want to play without Joe Burrow. No doubt he would have been a high draft choice last season if rules allowed him to apply for the draft. Should the three years after high school rule be eliminated?

I have no problem with this. This is EXACTLY what a football player should do if he wants to be paid. I don't think college players should be paid, so I'm okay with 'em turning pro if they want to be paid. This is capitalism at its finest.
Next man up!

118 out of 130 FBS schools are located in metro areas of 100K+.

....Rice probably needs to consider dropping to FCS. This is not a huge surprise. Rice has been on the brink of going away for a long time. They might as well use the COVID environment as an excuse to drop to FCS.
CUSA could lose Rice and ODU, and still have a balanced 12 team conference. (And no, I'm not crazy about UTEP either.)

Rice's 10/3 & 10/10 games are officially cancelled.
