I am so happy today. I have been on the Trump train since day 1. Trump will be a great president.
He will certainly be only about a million times better than Klinton would have been.
I do HOPE he proves to be a great president. If he does, then this country will reap the benefits and we'll move forward.
Yes, you have been on the Trump Train. I jumped on it when it stopped at that station when he wrapped up the primaries' win. And, I'm on it now for the ride!
I'm still leery. I feel like a dark cloud has passed over the nation. "Republicans" own the presidency, the house, and the Senate. We have 4 years to get some of the staples of the party through. Trump will rip up all Obama's executive orders, Obamacare is over, tax cuts are coming, immigration reform is coming (with a beautiful wall, with a beautiful door), Supreme Court at the very least won't be radical leftist. So much to be happy about.
However, what is this Alt Right? Who is Trump going to surround himself with? How vindictive is he going to be towards the Republican politicians who didn't support him? The Republican Party has changed, what will it look like now?
He knows how to delegate in real life (not politics).
Getting the right advice and plan in place for a new health care system will tell a lot about how he operates as a government employee.
Republicans and Trump really only have two years for radical change. The Senate, as tenuous as it is for the Rep.s, will have to be held in two years as will the House. Remember Obama had only two years before he lost the Super Majority. Now is the time for the senate and house to "come to Jesus".
Now little boys know they can preach hate and harass women and still become president.
Looks like white people finally have a chance again.
How does it feel to have the KKK endorsing your president?
The KKK is endorsing him Lol how is that not racist
His votes were mostly by small town white people. My racist family all voted for him.
Because that does not make him racist. Did this make HRC racist? -->http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/...-for-president
He denounced them repeatedly. I loved the melt in the media. All of the news networks personalities facial expressions and body language was definitely noticeable. They all had such a vested interest in seeing HRC elected it was obvious. They in many ways were like state run media in countries like Cuba, China, Russia etc. trying to control the narrative and what they want people to hear.
Boy was he wrong.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fanX9t1RHrc
True. However, there are still several reasons to cut family off. Heck, a lot of people here do it just because someone is a "fan" of LSU over Tech. That is way more petty than doing it because of racism.
We can't choose our blood, but we can choose our family.
Actually, the GOP has a decent chance to keep the Senate in 2018 based on the seats up for grabs in two years.
The Senate election in 2018 will have 25 Democrat seats (including 2 independents who caucus with Dems) and 8 GOP seats up for election. The 8 GP seats include "safe" seats in Mississippi, Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.
The Democrats have to defend seats in Florida, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Wisconsin...states that all just went for Trump last night. If everything goes right for Trump and the GOP the next two years, they could emerge in 2019 with 60+ seats in the Senate.
The news media still doesn't get it. They still are harping that a crap load of uneducated, white, racists showed up at the last minute to save Trump. They can't imagine the majority of Trump voters are voting against the establishment, Obamacare, open borders, environmental regulation, etc. That New York/D.C. bubble they live in doesn't pop easily.
I think it was the factory workers who've lost their jobs through NAFTA (in the Rust Belt). They weren't being racist, just want their jobs back. It's hard for uneducated people to find good jobs. These are union folks who usually vote Democrat.
Hillary got almost 4 million votes less than Obama did in 2012 while Trump and Romney got essentially the same number. No uptick in racism is in play. Just a candidate in Hillary that couldn't get out her vote.
Those groups were created to build power against lynchings and police brutality. Huge difference.
I don't go to family events anymore because I can't stand the constant hate speech.. I wish it weren't like that because they love me.
We shall see what happens. Lots of uncertainty to me. I hope after he rips up all these "bad deals" he can renegotiate better ones.. Let's be honest depending on what channel we watch they'll either be great or the worst ever. Still hoping for the best. Go dawgs
Many are much wealthier today! Whoever thought Trump had a chance to win should have bought Caterpillar and Lockheed Martin. If you did congratulations!😎
This ... Over and over and over again this. It isn't rocket science. People who are out of work blame the incumbent. The problem is the press has done a good job of convincing, well, mostly the left that the economy is great and that middle class families are just swimming in the excess of the last 8 years. They aren't. For two weeks leading into this election I watched my hard working neighbors fuming about their Obamacare premium increases. Same thing ... pocketbook suffers, the party in charge suffers.
My gawd man! for the past SEVEN years we have been posting about the anemic economy. That there is no recovery. We have posted stats, and links to articles, ad naseum. The real employment and job participation numbers, the poverty numbers, the record numbers on food stamps, the lowest home ownership rate since WWII, so on and so forth....We have bashed the hell out of obummercare.
Just have your "hard working neighbors" read this board, and they won't get blindsided again.
General Motors to lay off 2,000 employees in Ohio and Michigan starting in January. (While investing in other plants amid record profits.)
http://www.freep.com/story/money/car...offs/93545758/
Didn't they say that people aren't buying the cars that are made at those plants? Also, as processes become more automated, # of jobs decrease and profits go up. Oil and grease cost less than people. However, lower regulations and lower taxes should lead to more production and more money to invest in rebuilding the workforce. Allowing companies to let people off instead of working 20 hours of overtime each week. Spending more time with family will increase employee morale and increase productivity which will increase profit. This is IMHO the way it SHOULD work.
Just back from a dinner with faculty from the Scholars' College. Guess who they voted for.
They weren't in full meltdown mode, so I'll give them some credit, but it was still funny. One said, "I survived Reagan's election in 1980, guess I can survive this too." I asked him if he survived GW Bush's election in 2000? He looked puzzled by the question, so I added, you look a little pale, wasn't sure if you were dead or alive.
These faculty members have been known to lament that they have 30 students, and only one GA to help grade papers, and.....egad! they are required to keep 10 office hours per week. They must work for slave drivers! What a truly pathetic group of entitled libtards!
Trump has been yelling about being an outsider, so I'm very interested in seeing how he reacts to the lobbyist.
I didn't see your answer to this question. It sucks when the truth is inconvenient doesn't it? You might also want to check out the link of HRC praising her "mentor" Robert Byrd, a former KKK member, or the link to "Joe Biden Groping Women".

"I don't want to hurt them. They're good people." - Donald Trump
Good people? Really?
:icon_roll:
i know a really good guy. We were pretty good friends. One of the nicest, smartest guys you could ever meet. Everyone in the La hospital CEO world knows him and thought the world of him. He is currently serving a 15 year prison term in a federal penitentiary and owe's over $7million in restitution for theft, embezzlement, fraud, collusion, and any other related crime you can think of, with government funds.
At least he wasn't selling drugs illegally out of the pharmacy like another I know.
Not even the President yet and he's winning over companies and the world. :D

Ford was never leaving.
Ford has said repeatedly that the Louisville Assembly Plant wasn't closing down and all production moving to Mexico. The plan was for the Louisville plant to drop production of the MKS (only made up 9% of plant output) and to then increase production of the Escape. No jobs were expected to be lost. In fact, that is how it is written into the contract between Ford and UAW.
Also, Trump's rants have been against a supposed plan to shutdown the Michigan Assembly Plant and moving its production to Mexico. He was wrong there, too. The Michigan plant is being retooled to produce a new Bronco and new Ranger (I'm excited for the Bronco, personally. Hopefully it doesn't suck.)
Don't need to have to be an insider to know this (though it could help). Just read the "trades" and leaks and talk to people on it all. Sure, you can call it wishes, promises, and rainbow farts. Just has been zero credible anything about Ford closing shop and leaving anywhere. So, yeah, I'm reasonably sure I can say "Ford was never leaving."
Hell, the conspiracy theorist in me thinks this is more about pumping up Government Motors' stock by hammering Fords reputation.
And I would never call you a simpleton. I would include a comment here that was obviously sarcastic but it would be misconstrued by some.
Side note: Cars aren't much of a moneymaker. That's why you're seeing thoughts of and actual shifting of production from U.S. to Mexico or Canada or wherever; and we will likely see almost zero car production in the US in the next few years (from the Big Three). Instead, trucks, SUVs, and CUVs are the big moneymakers. So production of those are increasing (hence the proposed change in Louisville and actual change in Michigan for Ford). The jobs for those are more lucrative and secure. For now.
Just saw a Ford Motors spokesman on the Bloomberg Financial Channel, that's not what he said. He confirmed Trump's contention that the company was closing the plant, but has reconsidered due to many factors: the possible tariff, and the renewed confidence that the US economy will be robust under Trump, in comparison to 8 years of gloom thanks to obummer.

Most people who own a small business, large corporations, investors, entrepreneurs, etc., have a renewed hope and are willing to start taking some risk again. The past climate has been just keep on keeping on and hold on for a better day, just try to maintain and hold on to what you have, only minimal organic growth was taking place. Who wants to work and profit in an environment where you are punished for making more money? No one, I mean absolutely no one, if you can manage to meet all the ever increasing regulations and still make a profit, someone else has their hand out for that also.
I will admit that when Obama was elected not everyone wished him the best, but it was a small minority because most people knew that his failure would mean failures for our economy and country as a whole. Looking at the present landscape out there, I have never seen so many people hoping, wishing, and working to try and make sure a President-elect fails as I see now. Do these people realize that the failure of our President-elect could very well mean the failure of our Country.
The narrow minded segment of folks that are wishing this need to realize that the presidents failure, no matter who it may be, is not good for this country.

Don't get distracted by the "how" or the "who." Focus on the "what" and the "why." It isn't about Trump. It is about policy.
The simplest answer: Deregulation and lower taxes. Look below at the graph of Pages in the Federal Registry. That is the biggest difference between Reagan's and Obama's recoveries. And yes, W owns responsibility for failing to deregulate also.

The lack of reporting from anyone on this tells me you heard what you wanted to hear. If a Ford representative said anything remotely like that, it would be huge news that Trump's people (and everyone else wanting to do a "see, told you so!") would be blasting everywhere.
But I can definitely see those as reasons to keep the MKS production here instead of moving to Mexico.
Bloomberg doesn't have it. No right-leaning sources have it. And Trump's people aren't parroting and peacocking.
If what dawg80 reported is what was said, it would be everywhere by now. It is possible Bloomberg could be withholding the video because it embarrasses them and most everyone else, including me.
Not even President yet and he's bringing and keeping jobs for America already!!! What a worthless job Obama/Hillary/Kerry/Biden/Pelosi/Reid did for our great country!!

I forgot to post last week the news about Costa Rica calling for a summit with other CA states and Mexico to address a plan of action to deal with cuts to subsidies and "fair" trade and immigration policies from a Trump administration. Saw this on the BBC Financial channel. The Costa Rican government recognizes the gravy train will stop running, one-way, from obummer's Washington, and now these Latin American countries are gonna have to belly up and pony up.
Later I was surfing a blog and some guy posted "he heard" that these countries are proposing concessions to the US in exchange for continued financial support via our foreign aid, and that Mexico, for its part, will cooperate with Trump to curtail illegal immigration...i.e. a "wall." Said "wall" doesn't have to be a physical structure, but rather just Mexican officials/law enforcement doing their part to control the border. Remember, a sizable % of the illegals coming here are not Mexican nationals, but are from Central America. They have just been allowed free passage thru Mexico as long as they stayed on the train all the way to the US border. Because, the hypocrites in Mexico City strictly enforce illegal immigration INTO their country.
Mexico's southern border is much smaller than our a Southern border. 697 miles vs 1,952 miles! Let's build it there! Think of all the savings!
Sarah Palin come on down!!!! This has to be a joke no?
As for Sarah Palin, I am neutral. I don't see what anyone sees in her re: serious leadership in a national, government administration role. But then, I don't think she's stupid or "goofy" or any of the silly stuff the libtards have tried to portray her as. I did not understand McCain selecting her as a running mate. It is true he got a nice bounce in the polls at that time and "saved" his dead-in-the-water campaign, at least for a couple of months back in '08. But, Palin was not going to deliver enough to overcome all the negatives McCain had.
I think Palin should be strongly considered to be the Chairperson of the RNC. Since Prince whats-his-name has joined the Trump admin, that position is vacant. Palin has demonstrated a good political capacity, and I think she can pull women into the Republican Party in greater numbers, and continue her no nonsense approach to getting true conservatives elected across the nation.
Just my 2 cents....
Most conservatives liked her message, but knew she was limited.
Bashing Sarah Palin is popular among the self declared elite thinkers. It was the same way with Dan Quayle. They ignored daily gaffs by Biden and laughed them off as "that's just Joe".
Democrat = party of the double standard.
Amen! In addition, "self declared elite thinkers" also ignored the huge number of failings, security risked they imposed and the anti-American stance of Obama and Hillary.
Elitist actually hate people that get things done correctly. They would rather just hob nob about them and get truly "verklempt" and then violently angry.
As for Palin, I think she would make a great head of the Veterans Administration. perfect match as she truly loves America and veterans (not just lip service like the socialist libs).
More of the Trump affect.

Why are people still hung up about tax returns? What is the real point other than being nosy and needing to know how much a guy makes? Is it just because everyone else did before him? That's a dumb reason to do anything.
George Soros has lost $1 billion because of Trump victory. Man, this is like icing on the cake.
Seems he dumped some stocks because, in his own feeble mind, he thought the market would crash with a Trump election, and missed the rally. He also shorted some stocks. Throw in all the money he wasted on the Killary campaign, funding protestors, etc... and he paid a hefty price for betting on the wrong horse. Couldn't happen to a nicer POS.
What about Mark Cuban? I wonder if he lost any money.
When asked about the list of celebrities saying they are refusing to play at/attend the inauguration, Trump said, "most of them were never invited."
Typical narcissistic self-serving leftist Hollywood-types thinking they are more important than they are.
Senator Booker is a whining little baby.
^^^THIS!!! It's what Trump fans have always loved about him that the rest of the world --most Republicans included-- just can't understand. Trump fights back, and we love that about him.
Bush --because he continually got very bad advice from Karl Rove-- never fought back. Consequently, Bush let nasty lies and rumors fly untested for YEARS. Ultimately, he let the other side frame the arguments to their favor. Not only did it hurt Bush during his last term in office, it also hurt the conservative cause for the long term. It was very, very selfish of Bush.
If democrats don't want to reach across the aisle to work with Trump and Republicans, that's fine. I don't want any of them praising or taking credit for the things that succeed. I do want them to accept credit for items that fail because they could have stood up and stopped it but chose not to work with him. As a matter of fact, it will save a bunch of money if they just go home since they don't want to work.
Trump is kicking some major arse!!
I agree. To get everything he wants through congress, Trump is going to need votes from some of the RED STATE, Democrat senators that are up for re-election in 2018. McCain and Graham are both quintessential establishment dinosaurs that are having a hard time accepting the fact that their days of running things are finished. Nobody gives a shit what either of them think anymore. I think that Rubio will soon see the error of his ways and get with the program of "draining of the swamp" in DC that we so desperately need to happen.
